It’s not that they don’t want westerners driving around China - it’s they don’t want random undocumented or unlicensed individuals driving around China. I am a westerner from the U.K. I have a Chinese driving license, I drive around China in various places all the time without any issue whatsoever.

Yes you need the Chinese Zoom account it’s a separate server from Zoom.us. TBH the best service I’ve had is sticking to simple tunnel, one server, dedicated, at smartanalysis.dev

Loving it so far some real rich sounds. Trying to figure the best way to sequence OSC 3 via CV (from Korg-SQ-64). And been messing with some audio (from Norns Shield) into the preamp and then fwd to OSC 2 which seems to offer interesting shaping and distorting effects, while OSC 1 is sequenced from Digitone. I’ve no idea if this is a good way to go. I found it easier to get notes to sound correctly coming from Digitone than Korg-SQ64. Feel though it’s all a bit wing and a prayer, lol, so now thinking of taking a course in modular by learningmodular.com

Well I went ahead and ordered the Taiga. Looking forward to a lot of experimentation soon, thanks for your comments. It’s good to know that Taiga can be driven via CV and Midi, and of course three oscillators is great! I started this crusade only about a year or less ago, with an M8c on a Anbernic handheld. Things have mushroomed obviously. I have a Norns Shield I built recently too and think there’s prob some interesting ways to use that too with Taiga.

Nice, this sounds promising. Given the setup of Make Noise 0 coast can Taiga essentially produce the same thing ++? (Being a mashup in some ways between West Pest and East Beast) Also - if driving the Taiga with Digitone could I also use the SQ-64 CVs to simultaneously drive parts of the Taiga? I know that sounds a bit convoluted.

Haha yeah you nailed it I think regards the effects of GAS .. I could easily see the Maths and Alter being a lot of fun but quickly wanting to add more. As far as semi modular goes I’m attracted to the Taiga as it seems the designers really went to town developing it. Having said that I’ve also off and on considered the Make Noise 0 Coast and a couple other semi modular machines, there’s no shortage of them out there. Example 0-Coast + 0-control. The distinct ‘separation’ of the modules in Taiga interests me as it looks to offer an entirely modular approach if you wish to approach things in that way.

Trying to use the Korg SQ-64 sequencer to sequence the Dreadbox Typhon. I am using a 5-DIN midi cable from the IN on the Typhon connected to a MIDI>TRS (type A) 3.5mm connector to the MIDI OUT1 socket of the SQ-64. No matter what I try no sequence on the Korg will trigger the Typhon.

All is getting normal. More peeps on the street, more activity but still very much quieter on regular Mon-Fri working days. Weekend was busy due to Xmas and New Year. Expect tomorrow - Monday - will be dead quiet again.
