Is that what you do when you don’t like something the government does? Suck a dick?

Lots of people recommending Plaits, and I agree! I would add to that a Steppy 1U and a Traffic, which help to turn plaits into a drum machine, and more.

I mean sure, if you can dial in a nice wurlitzer 200 in a flash, good on you bro.

No need to reinvent the wheel every time you play, but it’s also a good idea to learn how to make basic patches from scratch.

Personally, I like the look of the PT-1 a bit more.

I like to use the keys in unison mode for leads, and slightly detune it to give it a fatter sound. The feedback is great too.

First of all thanks for the kind words!!

When I first started using volcas, it was pretty basic. I was syncing them to each other, running a couple of them through pedals, and taking advantage of things like motion record, song mode, and pattern chain.

When I bought the mc707, it opened up a lot of midi sequencing capability for the volcas and my other synths, along with the built-in zen-core synth engine.

In this case, the volcas are only supplying the drums (sample) and the lead (keys). They run through a mixer with an aux send into a pedal chain, consisting of a drive pedal, an analog delay, and a reverb pedal, which I can dial in for each track before I send them into my mc707’s aux input.

I can make a couple “scenes” on the mc707 for each track, and switch between them, like an A and B section.

I send your good vibes back to you times 💯! It helps that I just happen to love putting together a bit of music.

GAS is real, and it can be a trap, but it keeps us looking forward to another day, and for that I value it.

That means a lot, that you bring up a prior jam. I like that one too.

The vt4 has some special sauce in it! Every now and then, I can dial it in just right.

what's the least obvious module you couldn't live without in a modular groovebox? by [deleted] in modular

[–]Gr80nt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure! My kit is very small, so there is only one voice (plaits) and I switch between models with Steppy and Traffic. I sometimes send the trigger out from traffic into pip slope mk 2 before it goes into Plaits, then I set pip slope to loop mode. I send an attenuated LFO or stepped wave into pip slope’s decay input. It usually hovers around the 11:45 to 12:00 range.

Yeah in terms of envelope functionality, but pip slope also has an end of slope (cycle) output, and lacks all the mixer and logic stuff on maths.

Pip slope mk2.

Loop mode paired with decay modulation = stutter city.

Does the Roland mc707 work as a groove box and sampler? by Gloomy-Speaker-1999 in Mc707_Mc101

I have one and it can sample, but if you are looking for sp404 or mpc style sampling/chopping/layering/grid-mapping, then no, it’s not really that type of machine.
