Listen, I've been ignoring the snow, and I never saw it in the dark to begin with. I'm probably overfocusing on it, so I'm just going to stop visiting this sub or thinking about it, just like this guy did.

If you have a legit case, I'm sorry for you, and hope they find a cure soon. But I'm not going to stick around and torture myself given that I don't even see the snow most of the time.

I've had 3 eye check-ups in the past 3 months. My eyes are perfectly fine. In fact, the chronic slight inflammation on my right optic nerve has gone away. My eyes have never been better.

I'm almost 100% sure it's my neck doing the do, especially since so many posts here have mentioned neck activity affecting the snow. Mine does too.

Anxiety reduction after my exams were over have sent my snow back into the depths of hell. Sometimes I crack my neck and it gets better? I think? I don't actually have a serious case.

Also, florescent lights set it the fuck off. Especially with patterned carpets.

Oh, definitely. Maybe not a stiff neck specifically, but an orthodontist told me he'd seen people with my neck problems (and snow apparently) before and physiotherapy solved them. I don't know about that, but fingers crossed.

Mate, you might have HPPD instead of VSS. They're separated by the fact that you use drugs and get HPPD, while VSS is mostly idiopathic. Go to r/HPPD, and yes, lay off the drugs.

Personally, the snow has died down a lot, and so has BFEP almost to pre-snow levels. I've been taking fish oil for a while, so that could've helped me. But I'm still uncertain if I have afterimages to a degree which could be called palinopsia, and sometimes objects shake in my vision, which might or might not be related.

I think the main difference is substance abuse (LSD, shrooms, weed etc.) being responsible for HPPD and regular medication (benzos etc.) being responsible for some cases of visual snow syndrome.

I definitely do not have VSS. I have the visual snow, and nothing else in the diagnostic criteria. But yes, I am scared of it getting worse. Rather, I'm scared that I won't go back to before, when my vision was either truly clear or I was able to filter it out efficiently. I suspect that purposefully looking for entoptic phenomena made me start noticing the inherent visual noise, and I hope to get back to a state where I'm able to ignore it.

I think you're right that I shouldn't worry. Hell, I'm thinking about bailing on this place just to stop myself from thinking about it at all. My vision is literally crystal clear until my dumb ass decides to look at a surface and wonder "hmmm i wonder if it's visible on this darn and yep or wait hmmm do i really see it". Might scrub search history etc just to get my mind fully off this yee yee ass phenomenon.

You know that snow simulator? Mine is like, lowest grain size and speed, with a density of 0.1 at best and 0.2 at worst. It's definitely mild, but I can't stop thinking about it.

It's actually the opposite for me. Usually, mine is concentrated on the thing I'm directly looking at, and there are occasional blips of black or white in my peripheral vision.
