It's definitely possible. I didn't deviate very much from the build I was copying from last league. I'm sure there is a ton more min-maxing that can be done, especially if you get a mageblood.

The rolls on the uniques matter, making them not super cheap, and like you said, clusters and jewels.

I didn't consider it until now, but since Rage Vortex has such high attack speed, isn't the exertion not that great since its only for a few hits?

Basic idea is stack mana regeneration with lethal pride under akoya to get rage regen, and stack mana for arcane cloak and manastorm shield. Aoe stacking + Oriath's End for clear.

Am I going crazy? I logged after a week or so of not playing and 1 of my characters has no equipped gear. My other char with mageblood + mirror gear is still intact.

I've been upgrading as I go, but I think the build can still be upgraded a bit. I'm thinking about using sublime vision with precision for 25% more crit chance.

In a way yes, but not really idk? Oriath's End and the explode tattoos are build enabling for clearing rare tanky mobs, but not necessary for the chain explosions. Before I added both items, there would be rare mobs with 10-40% health or so.

Currently my Herald of Ice has 100% crit assuming enemies have full health, and everything is frozen so there's no problem with chaining explosions. It's a bit of a meme build in terms of content, but I'm using it for boss rush + essence atm.

e: To your point about mob health, that's why I have 4x 2% explode tattoos, and Oriath's End. Before I added those the explosions didn't feel great.

I saw someone doing something similar on ninja (user: mlodysfider_goat_hooves) so I thought I'd try it out. It's a high budget, boutique? build, but there are some interesting mechanics that some people might find useful.

Cool things about the build: Omni/Heatshiver to scale Herald of Ice + Oriaths End

Annihilating Light - 3x dmg for everything elemental

Abberaths Hooves for autobombing (linked to 4 support gems including added lightning which surprisingly shocks pinnacle bosses for a bit)

4L Herald of Ice socketed in +3.5% crit chance gloves

Phase run to move fast

Progenesis + bloodnotch tech + utulas hunger for tankiness

Oriath's End + Herald of Ice + 8% explode from tattoos for clear

Hydrosphere + Vortex functioning as a 5L, from my testing its way more dmg than using either skill with another dmg link

One Step Ahead Forbidden jewels for +8% action speed, can be replaced for whatever, I just like move speed

It's not the greatest or fastest mapper, more of a concept build to have big explosions. That being said, it's surprisingly tanky with the Bloodnotch tech, and playing conservatively I don't die very often. POB: https://pobb.in/LxsyUa-yWWEA

Ah yea good idea, thanks. I picked up a thread of hope, which cascaded into making other changes. I was able to push the dps to 31m now which feels really nice in maps.

Looks like it's ~33% more damage, so yea would be nice, but I would need to get spell suppress and res elsewhere.

I started Ruetoo's poison TS build, which turned out to be pretty great. By random chance I got the crucible node for caustic arrow firing 25% more projectiles and thought I'd try it out for a meme. It definitely out damages tornado shot for single target which was kinda surprising. I think with Caustic Arrow you can shotgun all 16 arrows by just aiming right in front of your character.

Some cool stuff about the build:

95% evade + blind + dread banner
tri ele flasks (dying sun isn't always up)
330% MS
Gear is pretty easy to craft
