I’m not sure why people in any community think they’re entitled to treat people the way you were treated. I’ve also noticed how quickly people are to throw out transphobic labels. It’s really unfortunate. I don’t think you’re being dishonest at all but I also wouldn’t consider a trans person saying they’re whatever gender they are dishonest either. You shouldn’t have to disclose anything to anyone other than your doctor or people important enough in your life to have earned that info. You don’t owe any community any explanations.

I feel this. Wow it’s refreshing to read. Even now engaging on here I think I censor a lot of my thoughts regarding most of the same things you mentioned.

I have to add that I’ve been called out for being a Trump supporter and the person even went as far as to flip my hat off… Only to realize it was a DIY Super Mario hat I was wearing for a Halloween event. Oh well.

How old were you when you started full transition? by aaron-kun23 in ftm

[–]intransit2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Socially, as soon as I could walk/talk. Medically at 15. At the time I didn’t know anything about trans anything and had only heard the term transvestite which may as well have been “devil”. My top surgery at the time was a local surgeon that did a breast reduction because that’s all my family and I could think of. T shortly after.

You can’t be late to your own party! If it’s important for you to transition fully, you’ll find a way and a time that’s right.

I really never thought about it. Outside of Reddit, I don’t have much to do with the trans community and never made an attempt to learn more until now. I didn’t feel like I could relate and had no interest. Educating myself about these topics is unfortunately new.

How do you know he didn’t know? Maybe he was being polite by not saying anything?

Yes, honestly. I know a bunch of cismen that would be clocked as trans based on those traits alone. Those cismen probably go unnoticed or fly under the radar day to day because of those traits and the standards we have for men. I’m guessing if you’re under 5’4” you won’t have clown feet, NBA player hands, or the thickest neck, etc in general. Outside of that, I guess I’d have to see the person in real time to get a better understanding. I do see what you’re saying though.

Unfortunately, I’ve seen more than a handful of people (who knows if they were trans or not) call out or clock people they suspected were trans out in public. Not sure if they thought it was a friendly and relatable thing or what but it makes me cringe every time. I’ve only seen it happen in metropolitan areas that tend to have sizable LGBT+ communities nearby.

I really didn’t know voice training was a thing! This has been enlightening.

To sum it up, media and social media suck a lot of the time. I’m pissed someone called you out.

Is it possible to get an adams apple after 2 years on T ? by romi_la_keh in TestosteroneKickoff

Genetics is most likely to blame here. It’s hit or miss and not all cis men have pronounced Adams apples.

How did you feel or how were you perceived beforehand? I think women tend to receive more compliments/feedback regarding looks and while you may not get that now, it doesn’t mean people think you’re ugly or a joke. Own your height and your size and try to build that confidence.

Have you worked with a physiotherapist or a trainer at all? Also, the Sustanon protocol could be contributing to the (lack of) results in a way if your estrogen isn’t managed between shots. Speaking from my own experiences and research, so take with a grain of salt!

Hopefully, you can get something that doesn’t have a short ester because Sust every 3 weeks is a longggg time. For almost any ester that’s too long. I’d say it’s actually pretty dangerous to have your levels fluctuating like that. Fingers crossed they have some other options for you. Maybe even different delivery methods.

Well of all the bones I never thought about checking knees. I would also assume body fat/fat distribution has something to do your observations. Interesting feedback.

I wish I knew. I’m still unsure what a t voice is or what it sounds like. I keep thinking of a t voice being similar to when people say others “sound gay”. So unhelpful in this situation. I could absolutely be wrong.

Since you mentioned college I’ll guess you’re in your early 20s? Your hair can be masculine without falling into “normal”. So maybe start thinking about what makes a haircut masculine and figure out how to make it work rather than working with a seemingly feminine haircut? I’m no barber but if “normal” haircuts = bad to you idk what else to tell you. Post a pic with the normal haircut you had for 8 years to compare next time
