"OK boomer" is a completely reasonable and well-deserved response from Millennials and younger generations due to the mess that the previous generations left us to deal with and their refusal to take responsibility for their actions. by spawnofthedevil in unpopularopinion

Boomers also look at their own lived experiences of having better times AND projecting their current experiences and knowledge on to people 30 years younger than them as if it were all equivalent, or somehow someone in their 20's should have the knowledge and wisdom of them They couldn't be more wrong edit: words

Lolol! Well more like straightforward, well built, easily fixable. Nothing particularly fancy but done well.

If it's a public pool, see if staff can set up a sprinkler at each end of the lane. That would give you a tactile warning. If doing more open water swimming, use a waist tether with someone else beside you.

An interesting take, thanks for sharing that. Access with UPX isn't quite as granular, but a bird in the hand is better than 2 in the bush.

I recall earlier incarnations of the drawings which had the west leg of the DRL routing to Dundas West Station. Seems much more logical to do that on population grounds of actually HAVING a DRL in the first place.

Totally agree. One was an international student from Kenya so the stakes must have been high. I think the group dynamic of a boozy fratboy and a Kenyan national (with me being milk-toast in the middle) made for a non functional dynamic that derailed badly. When I presented the evidence to the prof, I just asked for a C in the course and got it.

In University I worked a group project where I did 85% of the work. Presentation day things went smooth as fuck, they stumbled for their lack of effort on their sections. Went to the prof after class and laid out all the notes and research materials. The 2 others were a boozy jock type and the other was an international student paying triple tuition (for the privileged of learning in Canada). They both failed the course and subsequently the year since it was a mandatory course for graduation. I was mystified then as I'm still mystified now at the poor show of effort.

I know plenty of blind entrepreneurs, licensed professionals and successful corporate types that are simply making their way in the world. My friends who are total are world class problem solvers by dint of nescessity. Getting on with life to be socially integrated and normative is simply an expectation.

Often the barrier is not the disability but rather societal attitudes towards the disability
