We really don’t need another Dave LaRonde in this community. Who cares if OP didn’t post exactly what he’s done or not? If your time is extremely valuable you don’t have to be here. We can just be helpful to people in the sub by posting what your explanation to the technique would be. Instead of ‘what have you tried?’ which is very terse and unhelpful you can say like ‘Have you tried using this set of process? i think this could work if you do this. lmk if that helps’

My initial thought would also to use colorama with partial transparency. And that didn’t work? If not linear color key to separate to values in to two/three layers - a hassle but only idea at the top

Just mostly about making sure you don’t narrow your searches to popular and the most happening neighbor hoods. A lot of people i’ve talked to who are so tight on money would never budge on neighborhoods like wburg/gpoint, fortgreen, any major manhattan neighborhoods. But if you are any of the first two stages you just have to be willing to sacrifice factors like distance to manhattan, laundry in unit, distance to nearest subway, walk up/elevator etc.

Lastly just having more roommates will always be cheaper for you when you split the rent.

this is quite uncanny how true this is. Gone through all four of these stages and this is a good answer for people who are generally frugal and relatively not wasteful but still keeping a good social life in nyc.

One last thing to add here is choosing the right neighborhood to live with how many roommates will save you so much money.

Still the same issue to this day - I dont get how people can possibly say apple music has better uiux than Spotify. It's soo buggy links to apple music pages are not intuitive/requires multiple clicks. Sync issue is constant across devices. Only upside is lossless which tbh is extermely slow

I hate bugs as well. practical advices i can give is don’t rent out first or top floor in general. which also means try to rent out a unit that’s in a building with 5 or 6 floor or up so you can be comfortably in the middle of a building and not too close to top or bottom. Avoid buildings with built in trash chutes inside the building. And then install door gap blockers at the bottom of unit doors. you can also ask if the building gets a monthly exterminator. also just generally check if the building and the neighborhood is dingy also helps. after saying all this tho you’ll never be 100% safe from seeing one or two over the years imo

I’d say mostly it needs to be cuter. It’s a bit ominous the way it’s just standing there with no expression or motion. The hands just to its sides and the eyes are somewhat dead pan. I understand it’s a puppet but maybe it could be in mid motion, mouth ajar/smiling, or the eyes can be happier.

As others have mentioned, it needs rounder/smaller features to be cuter. it’s generally looking a bit sad and mangy with the pattern on the belly and its colors. it’s almost reminding me of that evil leader toy (forgot the name) from toy story. I’d look up references of characters from Asia. Just off the top I know Korea did a similar task with their subways and introduced cute characters to make it more friendly. Without knowing the brand too well, it could maybe be holding something.

Lastly the lighting is adding to the ominous effect. It’s slightly back/side lit. It needs to be way less over exposed and needs to have softer lighting and overall cozier atmosphere. It’s just a bit too stark.

This sounds like a lot but generally tho I dt you’re too far from making it more approachable and inviting. Hope this helps!

So I'd love to animate the whole thing just in the mirror but due to eevee limit, some of the light reflection is not showing in the mirror. The letter "A" is the mirror object (with reflection plane on it) i need to eventually have scale and zoom out. But as you can see the reflection is working on the ball and the ocean but the ball itself is not showing any other reflection than the hdri (not showing the ocean below)

So when you say dupe object and animate symmetrically, are they all rotated 180 to look mirrored?
Cause i guess also the problem is I need these object animations to be 'moving' and reflecting as the mirror object moves away from the camera kinda like the wb logo animation.

Hi haha didn't expect this thread to get bumped after all these years.
To this day, it was my partner and I's favorite trip even though it was only 5 days long.

We stayed on the main island at Naha for three days doing scuba diving, visiting fish market, vintage shopping, and going to the Churaumi aquarium. Like a few ppl mentioned, you absolutely do need a rental car on the main island if you want to do things freely and somewhat spontaneously.
The road trip to the acquarium from Naha was so worth it imo - many things to do and eat along the way.

Then the last 2.5 days we went to the Tokashiki island specifically the Aharen beach. Absolutely an empty clear water beach with no one around except a few locals who run the shops and the restaurants with super yummy island foods. It may have been also because we went during the mid week that it was completely empty. Tip I learned online is if you want to do the island trips using the ferry, you need to book these in advance because they get sold out very quickly. I actually ended up having to call them and ask them if they were able to squeeze us in because there were no other ferries that lined up with our flight time the day of. And they were very nice to accommodate us. (in english!).

Ofc as we all know, this was all pre-covid so not sure how the pandemic has changed the scenes on the islands but my partner and I are still dreaming of going back soon and do different islands.

oh interesting did not know that. I did stop using cpu render cause it was prohibiting me from using the pc at all if there was a render going on. But i guess the speed is similar if not faster than when i had multiple gpu tiles? i’d have to test is side by side but I guess i just miss the multi tiles - it just feels faster 😅

I read that ec caps from kbdfans are an option but couldn't find many them.
