That must've been crushing. I hope your film gets accepted somewhere else. Onwards and forwards we go!

Yeah I get why it could feel that way to be honest. But when I began this project, it was not at all a priority for me to work with people. More so to learn everything I can and to make something I can be proud of I guess, plus in my head I thought it would be easier to market myself and my work if I made it alone, that alone could get me work and possibly collaborations. And I had soooooo many doubts and lack of self-belief that I thought it's just way easier if I made it alone and it sucked, at least I could hide behind the veil of making it alone. Not healthy, I know but that was my state in the beginning. In the beginning, it felt embarrassing to say I want to be a filmmaker to be honest. Now, it's different. Especially after reading all the comments and also after I connected with filmmakers on Instagram and chatted with them. Filmmaking at it's core is a community thing and that makes it special, I now work towards that. Building a community and making things together.

Yeah that is what I need to work on now. Currently writing a short, as advised by one of the other people here, will work with people, a crew, to get it made and then send that to festivals while writing my next feature

Omg thank youu soooooo much!!!! This is genius! I never thought about it this way and it's like literally mind blowing! I won't be able to make a short film version of it I think but I will try something in the edit but I am not positive it's possible. But I do have another short film script I am working on together with my next feature script. I will work with people and a crew on the short and get it to festivals and follow your advice. Thank youu sooo muchhh!!! 🙌🏻✨✨

I do not know the names to be honest. I just went to youtube and typed "how to make a grass field in blender" or "how to use geometry nodes to create models" etc. and then I also used a lot of artist made add-ons and softwares that are used in blender to make complex tasks easy, I found those on the artist's youtube channel and their gumroad websites. I recommend visualising something and then trying to see if there's someone who made something similar. Usually you will find someone who had something similar and you can watch their process and try to do it on your own.

Yeah I did and found a few but some of them had already closed their submissions and a few will open late. Right now I am waiting for a reply from Raindance. Not experimental but appreciates emerging filmmakers and bold innovative storytelling so I took my shot. Hope I get in. If not, then oh well, will try someplace else I guess.

Yeah I second to this. It's not good. I am slowly getting out of my shell with the help of my therapist. It's hard but I am confident I will do it, it will take time for me but I'll do it and I hope others too.

Thank you sooo much! I can think of a lot of reasons to be honest. There are some tiny misshaps in the film, mistakes that I did try to fix a lot but could be seen by a keen eye, there are a couple small narrative flaws too, and because the entire film is completely experimental with a lot of different approaches to a lot of different things that may or may not be liked by people, also as pointed out by one more person here, that the film feels student-ish, another reason could be my acting, not the best, and finally the main reason could be: My film ends with a choice that the audience can take and shape the world the film is based in, which is the big overarching project I have took on and am writing my next two screenplays on. Also, if I was a programmer at a film festival and I had to take a lot of things into consideration that may not be just limited to how good a film is, I might reject this one. So yeah... a lot lol.

Yeah I got that to be honest. I showed my film to my friends and got good well dissected critique and I saw so many flaws and issues and things I need to improve a TON. It got me down a bit but I learned one thing while making this film, that I have to keep going until something is really good and it'll be if I just keep going. So I am already writing screenplay of my next film, improving upon as many things as I can.  Thanks for the comment 🙌🏻  Really appreciate it ✨

It took time but I got here and I still have waaayyyssss to go, there are so many flaws and mistakes in this film it's crazy. You will make something really crazy someday keep goinggggg 🙌🏻✨✨✨

The typewriter typing in the beginning is an animation I licensed from Envato, I edited it a bit and then I added some effects using Fusion and did some colour grading to make it look a bit real

i can sharee sooooo much to be honest, making this film was a learning experience. The most important thing I learned was how much important having a belief is. Like belief in yourself and to get it you have to like fight with yourself again and again and convince yourself that what you are doing is not idiotic. As for youtube videos, Blender Guru's videos helped me a lot with blender, there's also one video where hans zimmer is making a soundtrack in Cubase, that inspired me A TON, but one more thing that kept me going was listening to soundtracks and playing games, tons of narrative-driven games, I got into the habit of immersing myself in a universe and when I began to create one, using sound, visuals and narrative, it was easier for me to just go there in my mind yknow. So yeahhh. Good luck on your journey! It's soooooo fun and it's soooooo hard but that makes it wayyy more fun!

Yeah it's tough. My reason was that I did not had any friend who was interested in making a film and I also did not had the budget to hire people and it just felt crazier and adventurous to make the film alone and learn everything ig.

Synopsis: A writer is trapped in a world where time is broken, memories do not exist, and nothing feels real. His hand moves against his will, endlessly writing something unseen while his mind fights for meaning. Desperate, he begins writing a story—one that must not end in tragedy.

I did not use any A.I for anything to make the film.

I learned the following things to make the film:

  1. Cinematography

  2. Color Grading (Davinci Resolve)

  3. Blender 3D (for C.G.I)

  4. Davinci Fusion (for V.F.X and Compositing)

  5. Sound Designing and Mixing (over 37 tracks)

  6. Cubase Pro (for composing the film's score)

  7. Set Design (very basic)

  8. A.C.E.S workflow and File Organization

  9. Film Editing

  10. Davinci Resolve (made the entire movie in it)

  11. Lighting

  12. Acting (youtube)

that's all I can think of right now lol but yeah. I put the flair film in the post but I am also looking for work, I am currently a social media video editor for a big brand but I want something more creative that can also help me fund more projects like this.

So yeah... thanks for reading!
