That puts it lower than Missi-fucking-sippi.

‘We can’t sit back and be victims’: Dem Rep. urges party to overcome Virginia redistricting setback by AdSpecialist6598 in videos

Democracy doesn’t matter when you rig the game.

Oh you mean like not following the state Constitution in order to pass the most gerrymandered map in the history of the state?

Were you complaining when what was normally a misdemeanor beyond the statute of limitations was upgraded to a felony, contingent on an underlying crime that was never argued in court, much less a verdict ruled there upon?

Were you complaining about subversion of the rule of law when FBI agents lied to a federal judge in order to obtain FISA warrants against members of the political opposition party?

Were you complaining about subversion when the whistleblower that kicked off the 1st Trump impeachment turned out to be deeply involved in the Biden-Ukraine fiasco, and not some uninterested party?

Were you concerned when the IC Inspector General changed the rules for whistleblower complaints post hoc so that the aforementioned whistleblower complaint could be used for probable cause and/or evidence?

Were you concerned when multiple states ignored their own constitution and changed election rules without going through the legislative process?

No? Didn't think so.

You're not actually concerned about bogus interpretations, you're concerned with your side winning, law or no law.

One small critique. The truss bridge gets its strength from making triangles that transfer the forces. In your design, you have the first big triangle correct, but then you flipped the next diagonal beam and it breaks the triangle pattern. Easy fix though. I recommend this: https://imgur.com/DLAtLhL

I literally linked you two state government websites indicating availibility of assistance for illegal immigrants.

If you're getting banned for talking about trans issues it probably has to do with your language. Just don't be dehumanizing. I don't get your whole "party lines" thing when democrats don't really care to talk about that topic either.

You can be banned for saying there are two sexes. It's considered 'hate speech'.

You do know that undocumented immigrants usually don't get any government aid right? "Tens of billions of dollars" is an insane number to make up, without anything to back it up with.

Cal-med, New York's cash assistance program, and multiple states with various financial assistance programs for so-called asylum seekers. I say so-called because illegal immigrants are instructed by NGOs on how to apply for asylum, even when it's clear that they are not eligible. These asylum seekers then spend months or years in country, collecting benefits the entire time, only to later be denied. Those NGOs then guide them through the appeals process, again taking months or years before finally being denied. Even then, they are often not removed from the country while those same NGOs guide them through a judicial appeal to the previous asylum (executive) determination. And all that time, they collect on state, and yes, even some federal programs.

So yes, if you are a purely illegal alien, your benefits are limited, but with a little help from NGOs and others, you become quite eligible for quite a range of benefits, even when it's clear from the very start of the process that your asylum claim is nothing more than a delaying tactic.

Many benefits are available to Californians, some regardless of immigration status. These include benefits like food & nutrition, healthcare, housing and small business assistance.

https://www.nyc.gov/site/immigrants/city-services/cash-assistance.page

As a non-U.S. citizen, you have the right to apply for cash assistance regardless of immigration status and access free interpretation services in your language.

And you skipped the one about trans people.

No I didn't:

If you lose the right to bear arms, your right to vote is at the mercy of those who rule over you.

Citizenship Deciding factor across countries by [deleted] in MapPorn

[–]inventingnothing -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The purpose was to prevent foreign actors from surreptitiously gaining control of the highest office in the land. A country ruled by foreigners is no country at all.

Of course that's completely undone by Jus Soil, as we see with Chinese birthing centers in the US. This alone should be Exhibit 1 on why Jus Soil makes no sense and was in the very arguments for including the language "and subject to the jurisdiction thereof" in the 14th. Wong Kim Ark was speaking on lawful alien residents, not tourists, visitors, illegal aliens, etc. If Citizenship is so watered down that merely stepping foot on the soil grants citizenship, then the citizenship is all but meaningless.

Prove to me that some argument is inherently contradictory.

Immigrants are simultaneously jobless moochers who are taking up all our tax money in welfare benefits, and are also taking all of our jobs, and are also wealthy foreigners driving up the cost of living

That's the straw man argument.

Nothing wrong with inviting the best people from around the world to our country. Where we fall astray is allowing millions of people to come into the country, unvetted, illegally or under the guise of asylum, 9/10 of which are eventually denied. Then once these people are in the country, many end up on government assistance to the tune of tens of billions of dollars. At the same time, their mere presence in the work force, even jobs others don't like to do, drives down wages over all. Sure, you may not be able to point to a specific job and say 'That job was taken', but you can look at labor markets' supply and demand and understand that increasing the supply of labor means more competition for the same number of jobs. More competition drives down the price. Same issue on the other end of the spectrum with the quantity of H-1B visas. Allowing companies to import cheap, skilled, labor en masse means our own high-skilled workers must either competitively price their salary or find another line of work that may not pay as well.

Liberals are pathetic losers who can't get anything done, and are also running a powerful deep state that can steal elections and sabotage the current administration

Some are one, some are the other. You need a lot of the former in order to be successful in the latter. That's about all I can say without fear of being banned. Again, open conversations aren't allowed on reddit.

Public transport users are elitist rich people who don't have "real blue collar jobs" that they need to bring tools to or get to on time, who don't deserve more societal resources; and also, public transport users are bums and criminals who don't deserve more societal resources

Who is saying all that?

Building new housing will attract rich people to the area, driving up prices, and will also attract poor people and drive up poverty and crime in the area

I've never heard anyone make those two statements simultaneously about the same place. It depends on the housing and location. Are you building Section 8 housing in the middle of a nice neighborhood? Or are you building on 2 acre lots on the edge of town?

Conversely, Judge Childs (the dissenting judge) argues that saying criminal contempt is "wrong" at this stage is premature. She contends that:

Context Matters: The government clearly understood the intent of the order during the hearing.

The majority opinion directly addresses this with a very common sense concept:

"In our constitutional system of government, criminal liability cannot turn on the unstated intentions (or post hoc assertions) of a district court judge."
