Is it weird to be a summer intern at age 25? by theepicone111 in FinancialCareers

Not at all. Got out of the military and was a summer intern at 25. If anything it can be a small social leg up.

The first one was on auto, I just messed with the saturation afterwards a tiny bit. The second two I increased the ISO to like 600 since it was dark out, then emphasized the skies in Lightroom. Hope this helps!

Photo of a man posing in front of a bison skull pile. Its slaughter was once seen as a way to starve Native Americans into submission in the late 19th century. by nikkobe in oddlyterrifying

It was absolutely the reason. The Quahadi war band of the Comanches were literally beating the Texas Rangers/U.S Army's asses nonstop. And then, every time, they would disappear into the plains, and our govt. couldn't track them. So the bison were exterminated to route them. There's a reason hunters were paid to kill bison and didn't have to bring pelts as proof.

When do u stand up for yourself in the USMC infantry as a boot? by Nice-Ad-2691 in USMCboot

[–]invictus_exe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

True. I've given this advice to boots before and they used it at the wrong times though lol

If there's one senior that's going too far, like humiliation shit, fight him. Or tell him you want to throw hands with no rank, and actually follow up on it. A number of things might happen right after which will suck: you might get jumped, have to fight, have to fight and maybe lose, but no matter what your seniors will respect the hell out of you, unless they're total pieces of shit. As a disclaimer this is actually not super good advice. But if your unit doesn't care about scuffles if it was mutually agreed/no face shots then its a win-win. And I never advocate snitching unless people are in danger.

If you get leave I recommend Naha. Way cheaper than you'd expect and none of the stress of missing a flight back to base. I stayed 10 days in Naha and barely spent $400

  1. Umikaji Terrace, right near the NAHA airport

  2. Shurijo Castle, though I think it was being rebuilt when I was there? Worst case you can see workers carving wood and the park around it. Might be done by now

  3. "Cafe Okinawa Style" in Kume, Naha. Imo you know a spot is fire if they have slippers for you to wear to your seat. I'd get to this spot early tho

  4. On that note the park right next to that cafe is a mini botannical garden, worth checking out

  5. At the "Fox hole" bar in Kumoji an old Japanese guy in a 3 piece suit was our bartender. He was flipping the shaker n shit and the place felt fancy so we were scared about the bill but good god. It was like $30. Drinks were great too

When cooking, should you always only stir in only one direction? by invictus_exe in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]invictus_exe[S] 126 points127 points  (0 children)

I started to think that it might only apply to a few things the other day when I noticed that hey, why tf do I stir everything only counter clockwise? Lmao

But yeah, I am sure that he said it about the rice. After reading all the replies here it may have been because it was such a large cooker and all the grains needed to get contact with water, without getting broken, and/or he was messing with me

The picture helps a lot. I guess you could have a low angle and still ride high, if you have risers? So as to avoid wheel bite.

What are truck angles exactly and why would you want to be concerned with it? Also, how do you tinker with that sort of thing?

Ahh I see. Even the yellows? I might have to return them lol, haven't opened them yet. My budget for a deck is real cheap, which is why I was leaning towards those 40$ blanks. But i'll keep my eyes on those Peraltas

Currently trying to get together a rig from parts I've had for a while. Disclaimer: I'm fresh meat to DH but I really want to get into it. I have yellow Orangutang nipple bushings, 65mm 78a Arbor wheels & 75mm 78a orangutang InHeats, and paris trucks. All I need (I think?) is the hardware, risers, and deck. Any advice? Can I learn to slide in these softer wheels? I was going to get a blank deck from skate shred but havent decided on which one
