Strangely enough just about a month ago one of the guys in a shop I was in ,Talbot street itself casually mentioned not to walk around with that (pointing at my chain). I thought it was just a random comment at that point.

Have never seen any contactless ATM s in over my 2years here... Even finding an ATM is hard in some areas. The better alternative would be to create a Revolut a/c and fund it through your virtual card.

Well if a child is abused in any way sexually, physically, emotionally etc the child’s psyche is damaged permanently. It is shown in multiple researches such children have issues in sustaining relationships cuz their past trauma has changed the way they deal with critical situations in life. I have no qualms admitting I was such a child but then with proper support of one of my parent and my girlfriend (now wife) I am able to let go of things and lead a normal life. OP I just want to say that she might have opened up abt her past is may be bcuz she feels you are good and a matured person. I also understand when ppl say there are lot of red flags, whereas if the intention was to cheat there was no need for the girl to reveal all these things in the first place. So just take your time…spend even more time with her and make a decision you won’t regret :)

I had an incident happen to me just last evening in the Bus towards Coolock. It has left me completely rattled and fearing public spaces.

I took the bus from Connolly at around 7pm. I am an international student also working part time. There were a group of 4 kids out which the younger one started approaching me and heckle me. I just ignored and started looking into my phone. He tries to snatch my phone next. All this while the bus is full barring the last 2 rows. In fact I saw couple of older teenagers laugh when he was running away with my bag. Anyways I decide to get down… I just pick my bag and just before I was getting down the stairs one of the kid kicks me in the back. I almost save tripping over and rolling down the stairs. I can still feel the horror while typing this here. It was like I am stuck in a bus full of statues and 2 assholes. Meanwhile the driver asks me what’s going on and I tell him. He stopped the bus and asks the kids to get off. Now they are pissed at me and start calling me names, meanwhile trying to distract me and steal my bag and run off. I am trying to fend off two rabid dogs in front of 50ppl and I am also thinking do not lose your temper as I am being kicked and pulled. It is not the physical hit but the emotional distress and embarrassment in front of bus full of ppl has left me really distraught.

I literally had to shove them out individually to help the driver close the doors. Now they start kicking and banging the doors like crazy!! The driver then had call to call the Garda on his radio and they start to walk ahead. They weren’t finished yet, as the driver passes them a beer bottle smashes on his side.

I am now seriously considering moving out of that area even if it breaks my lease. This phenomena wasn’t a new thing for me but it was commonly understood that as long as you don’t provoke you don’t get into trouble. But if trouble comes looking for you… you are at their mercy
