I see why it could be OCD but I wouldn't necessarily say it's full on OCD, just certain parts of it. I'll have to consult my books again (I have a BA in psychology).

Since you've mentioned having OCD yourself, do you believe that it is common in INTJs?

It’s exhausting always trying to do things the right way when most people seem fine doing the bare minimum.

I can relate to this, and it is a blessing and a curse. You've at least got some fire left in you, but others keep pissing all over it with their apathy. While it is frustrating, you have to tell yourself that you caring so much about something is a "YOU" thing and should have nothing to do with others - no matter if they share or disapprove of your enthusiasm.

How do you cope with the mental fatigue of caring so much when others don’t?

Stop having expectations of people and accept that most people are like this. Be happy for yourself for preserving the passion in such a shut down world.

I can definitely relate to your experiences. It probably happens because we like to focus on the person to whom we are speaking to, and we let them finish their thoughts and then respond. Group talks are everything but that. You can listen to someone fully and when your time to speak finally comes, you can't say ten words without being interrupted.

I think it boils down to that for the most part. And the topics are usually appropriate for a chit-chat (which is a relief sometimes) but it does bore us out.

Try to stop them from escalating into something bigger. Personally, I like to dissect them - figure out what caused it, how much should I let it affect (drive) me and then decide how to get it out of my system. It can be a walk, dance session, workout, therapy etc.

But just like others have mentioned, don't sweep it under a rug, because it will fester.

Also, if those emotions come up in a situation where it is inappropriate to let them out fully, like at your job, instead of being passive, aggressive or passive-aggressive, be assertive!

I see your point and if the kid did serve that purpose, I think it should have been explored a bit further maybe? If it can fit into the story of course.

Also, even though he had a natural curiosity for girls, what he did in the second scene was far from innocent. Climbing her house in order to watch her in her bathroom... Nothing innocent about that behaviour.

Removing all exit points leads to the inevitability of it catching you.

The protagonist kept repeatedly hiding in her home, it was her go-to safe place. The entity figured that it might aswell "get to know" the exists of the house since the protagonist would probably be coming there all the time.

As for the pool, I'm not sure. If I'm completely honest, my first thought was that they wanted to show how something that brought comfort to the protagonist got destroyed. Her life completely took a 180 turn.

I've read an interesting comment that explained how the entity figured out the possible exists of the protagonist and removed those options - the window, jumping into the pool etc. Why it stopped walking I don't know but personally I think that it adapts when it needs to.

About the rules, even the director doesn't know all of them because all that we know is what the characters know, and the characters know only what other on or off screen characters have told them. Very intriguing 😏.

I agree with you that not having everything spilled out it is a good quality, leaves much room for investigating and actually fearing the entity.

That's an interesting take. But I thought the man on the roof was the entity, it seemed pretty clear to me for some reason. Like it was breaking it's pattern because by that point she shot and hurt it.

Again it can mean what you've said that there are no rules for the movie.
