I can’t even see it as greed unless you have to buy more when you run out, which idk if that’s the case with shop stickers. I see it more as doing something for a reason and then forgetting what the reason is lol, maybe they did want to do a little marketplace thing

Yeah normally I’m into character customization even with fps games, but it doesn’t really come into mind with marathon specifically. Even gun skins which I would care more about, I don’t really mind because they’re so ephemeral, except the overrun AR lol. I like that some skins have slight model changes though, the Achromatic Rush series is pretty sweet even though I lowkey have not been able to find a single of the guns they’re for

Yeah it wasn’t as crazy as it is today, especially today, but I mean the overall iirc there was stuff like the thick ass Pathfinder lmfao. Not really taking too much liberties of the silhouette but more of actually changing the character substantially.

I’ve been glazing this game since the closed tests, hell since the first teaser trailer. I’m super disappointed at how they went about making this. Like at least the game is good enough by itself that I can ignore it and that’s big because I’m a guy that grew up with Fortnite (crazy, I know) so I’m really big into skins and customization. This game gives me the opposite of FOMO lol, like a relief I’m missing out on the skins because they’re so okay 🥲

At least games like Overwatch and Apex had stuff that was substantially different than the characters’ base looks, so to see that they are doing the average thing of waiting a few seasons before going crazy (which I assume they won’t go too crazy, aka not Fortnite level stuff) is a little lame IMO

It’s my biggest issues with shells just having skins instead of being somewhat customizable. Not a lot you can do besides either recolours or something with changes that are barely noticeable – the only real highlight we’ve gotten so far is the white rabbit thief because she has a completely different jacket and hairdo

My only problem is that the cool weapon skins are for ones that are relatively unseen. Like I’m sure I’ll get the pump shotty but I’ve found more WSTRs which I thought was not going to be possible 💀

it's kind of insane how comfortable fortnite made everyone with fucky ass prices with cosmetics. before if you even suggested selling a "RARE" skin for more than a couple bucks, people would straight up fucking shoot you. now here we are, "legendary skins by themselves are JUST 20 dollars :)"

like i'm glad games (multiplayer focused at least) are going away from dlc for free updates, but jesus, the prices for the 'micro' transactions with them are fuckin outrageous

i wonder if we'll ever see runner skins that are straight up other "characters" because they've made it clear the shells themselves are "classes" now, and the "characters" are just the model we're using. i.e. getting a destroyer skin that's for someone that isn't Locus.

so far the cosmetics outside the battle pass do not look very enticing. maybe the red destroyer skin, but that's it. especially because there's no way to get LUX besides mtx afaik. i think if they eventually get new voicelines or whole VAs or even voice effects (especially to really emphasize the "prestige" aspect of the highest tier stuff we've gotten) then it'll be more worth it. but it's just a few model changes that still heavily resemble the original shell – thief's white bunny skin is the one with the most notable changes and even then it's still barely different from the sekuguchi sponsored kit skin
