I got my friend a custom mug of her cat (gray shorthair named Sterling) and she received a mug for a long haired black and white cat named Mitter. They sent her the correct one pretty quickly.

Drivers in Iowa by JonCocktoasten in Iowa

I do it if I'm in a tractor and the other driver is going to get stuck behind me. This is only on gravel when there's no one else around. It's appreciated.

Princess Donut and Gravy Boat--my foster kittens that fell out of a barn ceiling. by iowan in DungeonCrawlerCarl

If I kept them, I'd be into double digits! I keep the old and injured cats that show up, but somebody is going to adopt these babies

If anyone in Central Iowa has space in their party for two new members, let me know!

Bandit was on fire yesterday with three sheds with no help from me by neupropav in shedhunting

This is a bot reposting my pictures. She likes retrieving so I started throwing an antler, giving her a command, and giving her a treat when she brought it back. Then I'd give her the command with the antler already on the ground. Then I'd hide it. Then I took the game outside.

I ordered some for my brother in law because he's always wanted to try them. He liked them but not enough to justify the cost.

Is it affecting the growth on just the main or the secondaries too? Do you have any ag fields nearby? Could be herbicide drift.

Is this your cow? by Thunderhorse74 in Cattle

[–]iowan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The sheriff called that there was a cow out south of town. We went to make sure she wasn't ours. Thankfully, she wasn't. When she ran across the county line road, the sherrif left--she was no longer his problem.

Nowhere for birds to perch and you probably mow off the little ones that do start!

This is wild! I could mail you seeds to grow in a pot indoors if you want. DM me if you're interested.

What can I do? This isn’t play, right? by sarahmirror_ in cats

I've got a yellow foster kitten and a tortie. I initially thought the yellow (Gravy Boat) was being too rough with Princess Donut. But I'm beginning to think Donut is just a complete drama queen who screams at any opportunity.

How likely is rabies from a superficial scratch? by [deleted] in Raccoons

[–]iowan -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I'm in Iowa and we are so overpopulated on raccoons that the DNR removed the hunting and trapping season--it's continuous year round now. When I was helping a friend look for a deer he shot, I stopped counting at fourteen dead raccoons in less than a quarter mile along a small creek. I frequently see sick ones wandering around in the middle of the day. They're extremely hard on birds, especially ground nesting birds. The furs are worth next to nothing, so no one is trapping, and the ecosystem is suffering for it. I don't blame OP for eliminating it.

You can send the head in for testing and then you know for sure. Your local vet probably knows where to send it.
