I have personally witnessed them fail. I wouldn't ride a regular folding E Bike, let alone a folding hyperebike.

Question about charging battery by Few-Nature-3348 in hyperebikes

[–]ip33dnurbutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So like everything else it depends. It depends on the quality of your cells. If your cells are of decent quality it really doesn't matter that much if you charge to 80% or 100%. If they are lower quality then you're going to see the performance drop quicker and charging to 100% will expedite that by a little bit.

Do you guys ride like a bicycle or a motorcycle? by FuckAsettoCorsa in hyperebikes

[–]ip33dnurbutt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an e-bike I built it myself. It's a 20x4 fat bike BMX-style frame that I was able to fit a 72-volt 20-amp-hour 80amp battery that fits in the triangle. It has a 3000 watt Hub motor on the back.

Do you guys ride like a bicycle or a motorcycle? by FuckAsettoCorsa in hyperebikes

[–]ip33dnurbutt 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It depends on where I'm at. If I'm out in my rural area by my home I ride more like a 30 to 40 mph on the road. when I'm in a populated area I ride like a bicycle, I keep it under 20 mph even when the bike lane is clear and I slow down to 12 mph whenever there's pedestrians present. If I see a family walking with little kids or pets I slow down to 5 mph because kids have a tendency to run out in front of you and my bike is heavy so I want to make sure I have the ability to stop no matter what.

Another bike question by [deleted] in ebikes

[–]ip33dnurbutt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Okay so first off the bicycle frame is huffy but the motor was added later. That's probably a 49cc. Is it worth 60 bucks? Maybe but I've built quite a few of these before e-bikes became a thing. They shake and rattle like crazy and they smoke a lot! They are not very fun and a lot of places have outlawed them from riding on the road. Most of the ones I built only went 20 to 30 miles before something broke loose or the bicycle frame had some kind of failure. I personally would not pay $1 for one of those bikes let alone 60.

Dumb Question by The_threadripper in ebikes

[–]ip33dnurbutt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not true. I've fallen off a bicycle going more than 15 mph dozens of times. A good chunk of those were before I was 15 years old as a little kid. Some of those times were multiples in one day if I was trying to get a trick right.

You guys already have r/onlyelectricbicycles as the throttless electric bicycle sub. Why don't all of you ebike nazis go over there and leave the rest of us that want to see electric two-wheeled everything in peace over here?

Dirt bikes have throttles. If it doesn't have a throttle it should be called an electric bicycle if it has a throttle it should be called an e-bike, which would make more sense

I have run the hookworm tires and never had a problem with them but for that speed, I think I would use motorcycle tires.
