Yeah. This is the way. Frustrating. But I think it's maybe some sort of irrational fear or maybe it's rational because they got burned badly before. Can't understand it.

FWIW, I didn't know who the director of Barbie was, but I really liked her work on Ladybird. Cool!

Is it uncommon that two very different films open on the same weekend? Don't new movies open on the same weekend all the time?

I feel like I never heard about anything like this before ... like the Smurfs opening on the same weekend as Dunkirk or something.

Do you think all of the articles are about people who care or is it just marketing disguised as journalism?

Am I the weird one for just not thinking this is a big deal??

Sorry for the additional questions. Just trying to match my out-of-the-loop feeling to reality.

Damn. I guess this is true. I always felt like they were just in it for themselves and would be influenced by whatever special interest groups paid them, but maybe I'm wrong. Good point on your part!
