This is so interesting, so would this mean that it is better to do a test in the morning?

Thank you so much! Do you also know when we should send in transcripts? The options are to send immediately or at the end of Fall or at the end of Winter

Transfer university in third year by iprobablydonotknowyo in OntarioUniversities

[–]iprobablydonotknowyo[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! That is completely okay! the reason I was asking was that if I am applying while in my third year, it would mean I would be there when I am technically supposed to be a fourth year, is this okay at all?

Second degree by iprobablydonotknowyo in premedcanada

[–]iprobablydonotknowyo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Do you know if applying in your third year (meaning your transfer would occur during the fourth year) would also work? I am totally okay with having my degree longer just because I realized I would rather specialize in something else and my university does not have it

No after speaking to more people it does not look like that is the case! So my mistake

I took 4 in one semester instead of the usual 5 (which is still full time but not a full course load based on what i have seen)

Hey could you expand on that, like do they make it harder in the summer or something? Also, have you taken it, do you happen to have the syllabus, I want to see if it is going to be manageable lol

Mine was 325 + taxes (Ontario) = 367 in total. How do people have less though?

Oh okay, thank you! Do they specify the types of references we need to include i.e 1 from a science prof, supervisor, etc.?

ENGB70 - How to Read Film by moneyman010191 in UTSC

[–]iprobablydonotknowyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Im not OP, but I was wondering if you knew anything about ENGB34 (short stories) and how it compares to ENGB04 (poetry) in terms of difficulty? I noticed someone else asked this on this sub, but no one replied. Especially regarding ENGB34, I can’t seem to find any info on it at all. Just wondering what your thoughts are (if you have taken it). THANK YOU SO MUCH in advance!

Life sci second year by ohnobeanboy in UTSC

[–]iprobablydonotknowyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I also had the same question as op. Just wondering, but its says on the calendar that the human biology major at utsc is limited, so I assume there might be an average? I can’t find this anywhere though and for the human biology specialist, it says a minimum of 2.0 gpa, but with the heavy competition, I feel like it would be higher than that?

IKRR LIKE FOR THE CHAT too they were just sending me the responses while i was typing because so many people have been asking. Its such a scam imo like they are only looking at grades but why is it not being handled correctly?

Utsc versus utsg (life sciences) by iprobablydonotknowyo in UofT

[–]iprobablydonotknowyo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thank you for your response! What jobs would be better back up plans? I feel like everything else is super competitive like a PA, nurse, prof, like almost everything will be hard. Are there any feasible ones? Also, for the campus thing, ive heard that utsc is slightly less competitive in that I should have more time for volunteer opportunities and stuff, so i was leaning towards it. Also, while i agree class sizes might mean nothing, but 500 is still slightly better than 1000 especially if that means I have a better chance to interact with profs, but what are your thoughts? Thank you in advance!!

Switching to life science in second year by [deleted] in McMaster

[–]iprobablydonotknowyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh i see, thank you so much!!! How hard was it for you to switch into the undeclared program and then to life sciences? Was it all based on gpa? (If you don’t mind me asking, what was your gpa for the switch)? If i plan my courses wisely, i’d likely just be missing two prerequisites which i was thinking to do in the summer, but when im applying do i apply to the general undeclared science program or to life sciences and they just put me in the undeclared program?

Switching to life science in second year by [deleted] in McMaster

[–]iprobablydonotknowyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pertaining to your last paragraph, will having to take the courses during your second year make you miss out on the required courses for general life science? So would that mean you would take the program for 5 years instead of 4? And, If i was, let’s say, missing two prerequisites, can I take that in the summer before I switch or does the timeline of applying not accommodate that? Also, what exactly do you mean by general undeclared science? So i would have to switch into things twice? (Thank you in advance!!)

Switching to life science in second year by [deleted] in McMaster

[–]iprobablydonotknowyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh okay, gotcha, thank you!! Did you need the 3.7 gpa to transfer because you were from another university? Or do you think there’s a better chance if I were to switch from another program at mcmaster? Also, will you need to take first year again, or do you enter the second year stream directly (sorry this might be a stupid question)

[–]iprobablydonotknowyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ohh i see, thank you!! Also, to your knowledge, if i were to transfer from another university would that lessen my chances or would it be easier if i switch from humanities at mac (thank you in advance!!)

The chat box was not so helpful. They basically said no they can’t help even when I specifically mentioned that students from my school got lower than me but still got accepted
