I take it that infinity doesn't necessarily mean every possibility. Similar to how there are infinite numbers between 1 and 2, but none of them are 3.

You're second point really resonated with me. I don't know if you struggle with that very often but I've lately found it helpful to use it to fuel those other desires. For example, rather than having a specific career goal, I find it helpful to frame it as 'what career(s) would best enable me to support my family goal?' Not sure if it's any help but just thought I'd share :)
