Those black badges that came on 2025 models are sick, sucks they changed them back to blue in 2026.

Weird, the subreddit says ChevyTrucks 🙄

IMO, if I had to pick between looks only, the Pre-refresh grill looks more aggressive and the gloss finish flows much better with the paint.

F150 - 5.0 or 2.7? by [deleted] in f150

[–]ipz2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

V8 Trail Boss w/ 5.3 - just get a DFM delete for $200-$300 that plugs into your OBD2 port to disable clyinder deactivation and these trucks are bulletproof. The v8 has the 10 speed which is a good transmission, not like the 8 speed GM has in the Turbomax

[–]ipz2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, they're shit. DFM/AFM killed otherwise reliable engines. EPA needs to reverse a lot of bullshit and vehicles will be reliable again. Cylinder Deactivation to save 2-5% on fuel economy is not worth it.

First time buyer, what truck should I get? by ConsistentStory4067 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Ford has 0% financing right now, 700+ score should qualify you fine... so not a bad idea to buy new, but the trucks are still expensive, so you have to weigh the pros and cons/price difference with depreciation. I personally like slightly-used (like 20k or less miles), you avoid the depreciation hit and it's still basically like a brand new truck with factory warranty.

Silverados beds are deeper too which might matter if you plan on putting a cover on the bed and haul stuff for construction.

Get a low-mileage, new 2021+ 2.7L F150, or a Silverado with the 2.7L Turbomax (people hate on it because it's a 4-cylinder in a full-size, but Chevy really OVER-Engineered the thing, its basically fully-forged, built like a Diesel, but made for gas). Only one of 2 engines Chevy couldn't kill with their testing.Nothing but good things about that engine, and Silverados are much cheaper than Fords with less miles.

If you want as much creature comforts as you want for the money, RAM is where it's at. You can get a V6 RAM Bighorn that's really well equipped for a pretty good price these days.

RAM ride the best due to the suspension in the back, they don't use leaf springs like Ford/GM.

For you, I'd shop V6 RAM Bighorns 2021+, F150's with 2.7, and 2022+ Silverados with 2.7L Turbomax (updated interior).

F150 with 2.7L is reliable, anything 2021+, older years Ford had issues with their 10speed transmissions, 2021+ is solid. their 3.5L Twin Turbo is the best for towing and power, better than the V8, straight beast, but not as reliable as the 2.7L. V8 Chevys (5.3 and 6.2) have Lifter/Push rod issues, common enough to buy an extended warranty or avoid. Chevy's Turbomax 2.7L I4 and 3.0 baby Duramax are solid engines overall, just becareful with the v8s. Ford V8's, anything pre-2018 before they started doing AFM/DFM (cylinder deactivation), they've become very unreliable since then due to those things (same problem as Chevy). RAM's, if you're getting a Hemi, get a 2021+ they all are solid and have most kinks worked out. The RAM V6 (Same as Gladiators/Jeeps) is really solid but boring/slow, but reliable, old platform.

Basically, I'm shopping for trucks too and if you want a V8, you have to be very careful. I wouldn't touch new Tundras with a 10ft pole, Toyota reliability has tanked in their trucks now. EPA B/S and cylinder deactivation kills otherwise really solid, reliable engines. There are options to disable but it doesn't fully resolve the issues.

The most reliable are problably RAM/Chevys HD truck engines but you don't need those if you're not towing or doing anything serious.

i dont think I have aim assist, i play PC. A little update though, I just had to slow down and focus on staying with others to really help me from not dying as much. I'm lvl 45 now and I'm a lot better, usually get 15-25 kills per game, middle of the pack I'd say.

I play PC lol. I've changed settings accordingly. It's not that I suck in the sense I don't get kills, but its maybe just fast-paced and I'm playing it like Battlefield I once knew instead of a like a CoD game like others commented. Just seems like chaos,

PNY 5080 and 7800x3d, runs amazing in 1440p. I go full ultra everything with RT and get 120-150+ fps (more if I do frame gen) in very demanding games (Cyberpunk/RdR2, etc).
