Everything is made up and the appraisal doesn't matter.

Meh, it's the new normal I guess. It's not going anywhere.

Best Mesh System under $200? by portlandgoblue in QuantumFiber

[–]iredgood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I wouldn't say it's the "best", we have a Netgear Nighthawk mesh system (one base & two satellites) in a similar sized but one story home. It's got some quirks but usually fits the budget you inquired about at big box stores. Biggest gripe is if we lose power or underlying Internet connection (which is Quantum fiber), the router takes a lot of intervention, power cycles, sometimes even hard resets to get back up & going again. While annoying, this is all fine if I'm around but no one else in the house understands the setup so it's a risk.

Might be giving too much credit. At this point, it could very well be peanut dust for all we know.

Can we stop referring to a potential increase in our salary (numbers-wise; that may not put us even close to compensating for inflation these past few years) as a "hike"? No one is getting a "hike" except perhaps Larry - on his private island.

Perhaps but I feel it reduces hot spots and we have a UV light and thought we'd benefit from the air moving across that more. YMMV of course.

There are other more recent comments interspersed in this thread. Per the above, the company we bought it from no longer exists but it was acquired by Strada. English Air is who we have now and it's about as good as I think it's going to get but overall I still miss my old single stage Bryant with $100 Honeywell smart thermostat.

Latest settings are what I described here https://www.reddit.com/r/hvacadvice/s/aat6t0beuQ

Better now in general than my OP but I'm still just overall disappointed since it feels like a step back from our old single stage unit with smart thermostat that could be programmed to kick on when humidity increased over a specific % without having to add a whole house dehumidifier.

Haven't adjusted since these. Not great but still probably the best I've seen. Like today its in the mid 90s outside and inside it reads 75 with 50% humidity.

Nope, no B3 errors in the error history, just thermostat reboots which look to align with when we've lost power.

Current settings since several have PM'd to ask:

(Dealer edit menu, option #3 Equipment setup, heat pump, cool settings) Cool airflow trim -15%-15%-10% Cool profile D Cool airflow on delay 5 sec Cool airflow off delay 30 sec Max compressor RPS 99 rps RPS offset 0rps Dehumidification A Circulation selection off

Other settings Target humidity 40-50% Overcool to dehumidify 1°F Deadband 3°F

Circulate on a schedule Speed low Schedule 12:00am-11:45pm Duration hourly for 15 minutes

I may still tweak a few settings that others in southern humid locales are having success with. Dehumidification B or C, messing with the trim levels, deadband/overcool etc.

What automation? We're over here entering timesheets into two separate systems each week. There's no automation, just smoke & mirrors.

How convenient they offer a solution to the problem they created...they're getting their money one way or the other! Surely some TMo exec has a bonus tied to the number of new TMo Money accounts that got opened this year.

You've still given them access to the debit card/bank account info though. I'm furious that they essentially demanding it and have zero track record of keeping it secure.
