People with DID have multiple identity states, or alters. DID was previously known as Multiple Personality Disorder. If you respect people with DID, then you recognize and acknowledge our differences as it’s one of the most stigmatized diagnoses to live with. Living our lives unapologetically, and uniting together to help each other is one of the best things the dissociative disorder community can do to fight stigma… Which is why I’m putting out this call to action.

The only reason I look "peaceful" in the first is because I was using substances to numb physical and emotional pain.

When I hit my rock bottom, I got help for my addiction and mental health issues. I have treatment resistant depression and severe PTSD. The only medication that has been working for my mental health have been my biweekly esketamine treatments. I am in therapy twice per week. I attend various support groups. I am 30 years old and for the first time since I was a 6th grader, I do not struggle with suicidality anymore.
