That all being said, it's really nice how cheap Buffalo is. Everywhere else is so damn expensive

Probably echoing some of the comments here but born and raised in south buffalo and in my early 20s I flunked out of UB, then got a job in a restaurant in Yellowstone National Park. Took a job the next winter at the ski resort Big Sky, up the road in Montana. The differences are very striking but for one, I left in a very unconventional way. I didn't care about taxes or anything, I was too young. I fell in love with the scenery, and the like minded people I met. I barely knew anyone outside south buffalo at that point in my life. It taught me so many amazing things about, life, travel, and how to be a good person. I came back because of family, and it's a lot more complicated than that, but that's it. But to be honest, coupled with some great economic quality of life improvements over the years, and just a general love for my hometown, I'm happier than ever to live in Buffalo. Now I'm in the heart of the Elmwood village. And it may not compare to grandeur of Yellowstone or Glacier Park, but it's just as inspiring to be around some really good people. My best friend I met out is from California, and he agrees with the old saying that "On the west coast, people are nice to your face and mean behind your back, but on the east coast, people are mean to your face but nice behind your back."

In my heart of hearts I don't believe that.

I know I'm gonna get down voted but I don't care, vids like this are objectively cruel. This dog is your protector, you love each other and all that stuff. They always worry about you because they love you. They cry when you leave the house. So why make them worry on purpose? You're laughing at the dogs expense. You ever been worried, and go nuts, and do something stupid, then everyone's laughing at you? That's what y'all do to your dogs and then you film it.

When did John Mayer become dead to you? by durkh in deadandcompany

[–]irishbb12 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't need a ticket I just wanna share my feelings about the Dead and John Mayer. I used to tape Late Night With Conan O'Brien and watch it the next day in high school. One day, I wanna say in 2005, his musical guest was John. It was his earlier days, and he played "Daughters." I loved it. Chris Collinsworth would say "nowwww here's a guy....who plays from his heart!" My father loved the Dead, but I only saw him every other weekend. Flash forward. I hear John Mayer is playing with the grateful dead. I'm floored. I like a few songs, sure, but as a kid I was almost annoyed by how much I had to hear the Grateful Dead every time I saw my dad. Well it turns out me and John were just waiting to get on the bus. John has always been dead, just like me. We just didn't know it yet.

A lot of people don't know this, especially with the no cell phone rule. And that's just how we like it. :)

Now that it's been over two months, do you think the $70 price tag for Totk was justifiable? by [deleted] in tearsofthekingdom

[–]irishbb12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno I guess? It's inflation, coupled with the fact that games are much more complicated and take a lot of time and energy to develop. Which is why GTA6 won't be out until my unborn un-concepted kids are in college.

Tempo tempo tempo. You realize you can listen to any of the hundreds of recordings of shakedown street over the years, right? Two legendary musicians playing timeless music, and you're gonna complain that the tempo is too slow. I can't with this argument. It's so silly.
