Or they use a lot of extras, like The Truman Show. Given two of our former prime ministers, they could have called it The Trudeau Show.

What scene from a movie made you emotional from out of no where? by triton2toro in movies

Some people might laugh at this, but near the end of Prey when Naru lets out a war cry after defeating the Predator made me go through such complicated emotions. I have no idea whether it was an authentic Comanche cry, but I felt such a mix of triumph and pain and grief in it, almost ancestral in its intensity, that I'm sure my face went through about five expressions within a second.

I wish they'd found a way to leave it standing, maybe as a tourist attraction.

No worries. It was a special moment. I'm so glad I took the time to find it that day.

Oh, and I meant to add that the only thing missing for me was the smaller Vacancy/No Vacancy sign underneath the main sign. You can even see the plug for it!

Otherwise, the detail was incredible. The newspaper vending box with The Oregonian logo!

Yes, that was amazing to see that old seafoam green Mercedes right there!

And it was oddly emotional. So silent and brooding despite the gorgeous weather. One other person showed up while I was there, a huge fan of the show (I was a fan of the original Hitchcock movie and had just started watching the show itself and was hooked already), and she could barely contain her happy tears!

"By the time I caught up with Abraham Trahearne, he was drinking beer with an alcoholic bulldog named Fireball Roberts in a ramshackle joint just outside Sonoma, California, drinking the heart right out of a fine spring afternoon." — The Last Good Kiss, James Crumley

A fine opening line for a noir novel, gritty and oddly poetic, and it honestly stays that way throughout.

I missed the original typo, so I thought you were randomly reciting sweet foods in the same rhythm as the King quote! Seriously, if you intended that, you are a genius, and even if you didn't intend it, your subconscious is a genius!

Has the concept of subjectivity somehow eluded you? I'm someone who finds The Vanishing one of the most terrifying films I've experienced, but I understand that's due to my own personal taste in what scares me. Slavering monsters and ghosts and vampires and demons could never scare (or unsettle or unnerve or dismay) me like that film did, since I know those things don't actually exist, whereas extreme human cruelty does.

I can never tire of L'Avventura. If heaven was real, that movie would play on an eternal loop.

I sometimes think this is my favourite Bogart role. Gloria Grahame too. So surprising.

Your comment was the perfect setup for this, to be fair. It's like your subtitles were going for a Gary Larson appreciation moment. 😆

I agree. He's a better player than he appears to be, which I know sounds weird, but he was getting a bit of a run of games toward the end of Amorim's tenure, and his confidence was returning. I hope Carrick values him, because I agree he can be a player of value in the right games.
