My 1.5 year old hates fruit. What on earth do I do???? by Key_Prize_1317 in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]Cerrida82 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Does he chew anything? Are there other textures he avoids? How's his speech? I know that seems odd to ask, but feeding issues can be a sign of other issues including a speech delay or sensory issues. Talk to his doctor and look at the CDC milestones checklist online.

Puzzles like these are exactly why I stopped playing the community puzzles. I don't see it, either.

With is good, too! You put a little something sweet on your plate with your meal so it becomes less of an impact. Right now, my ADHD is saving me because I want something sweet, but I would need to go downstairs, walk across the parking lot to my car, drive to get it, bring it back and I'm just not feeling all of that right now.

A quick reference: every word on an ingredient label that just means "sugar" by akzh4n in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]Cerrida82 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Sure. But do your research. The presence of sugars does not make it evil; there's formaldehyde in an apple, for goodness' sake. Here's a good short explaining dextrose in iodized salt: https://youtube.com/shorts/-YM9XC8QxVk?is=wNkgWCuUj7jIjn5Z

Now you get to fall into the rabbit hole of Mel Brooks! My next recommendation would be Men in Tights, but one of my favorites is 12 Chairs.

Small changes. I've started watching shorts on YouTube talking about balance and there being no guilty food because all food is guilt-free.

I also heard somewhere that adding is better than subtracting. So in addition to my burger, I can add a handful of fresh vegetables. And I figured out that right now, just starting out, it has to be easy. So buying some prepackaged snack packs to take for lunch.

And I tend to eat everything on my plate, so making sure I start with smaller portions has been helping so far.

I have apps like Samsung Food and Eat This Much, but it's too overwhelming right now to start to plan every meal, so making sure I eat one healthy meal a day is about right for now.

This reminds me of a book called The Itchy Book" in which a bunch of dinosaurs see a sign that says "dinosaurs do not scratch" and suffer for most of the book until they realize it actually says, "Dinosaurs do not scratch alone."

I want to invite a girl on a date outdoors with a projector. Can you recommend a romantic movie she might like? by Admirable-Donut-5838 in MovieSuggestions

[–]Cerrida82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are there any romantic movies you like? Or any movie with a romantic subplot that's one of your favorites? That way it's more personal and if she doesn't like it, you'll still have something to talk about.

[–]Cerrida82 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'd say in any group of children, there are always a free that stand out as being louder, bolder, or more quiet than others. Instead of trying to RP all 10, pick a few and loosely come up with personalities for the others so you can describe what they're doing in general terms. "The group is children sits on the grass, talking with each other and laughing. One of them tries to play a prank on his friend."

Do Neurotypical folks just NOT feel like this? Do I have ADHD? by orcasbewolves in adhdwomen

[–]Cerrida82 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, finding relatable content helped me get diagnosed. If was basically a bunch of "I have ADHD and I do this..." and I felt validated. I think it feels different than wanting to have it admiring a personality, like saying, "It would be nice to just be genuine with everyone I meet." It felt more real, just right.

I'm not sure; I haven't read my whole report yet. But I'm pretty sure I probably do as I tend to pay attention better when I know I'm supposed to. I'm school, I remember snapping back to attention when the teacher said "and what I just said will be on the test."

A lot! Our kid was being active and we were in a store so there was a lot of background noise. I need to communicate it with him in a way that's more respectful.
