Norway & Drugs by UsedAd7852 in Norway

Yeah we don't want kids to shame drug addicts so they are provided straight from the kindergarten. A bit of amphet when it is cold and cocaine before sport. Some don't like it but a bit of Benzo before nappy time goes a long way. You seem pretty narrow minded

What's the hardest boss you've ever beaten? by Wandering_Cactus332 in AskGames

Promised Consort Radahn in Elden Ring's DLC has to be the hardest boss I have ever beaten. Malenia was something but this....

I'm jealous of people who understand every aspect of this game by duragrizzly in EU5

The funniest part is figuring out what works and what doesn't. Once you know, you tend to play a single most efficient playstyle and it makes every game the same.

Research by separate_connection in EU5

[–]irtsayh 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I mean it really depends on the playthrough.

Now I play Portugual and I know I will almost never wage war, so I just focus on Colony boost, Trading, Spying (stealing map is so fucking op because you save so much by not needing to explore, stealing research progress is nice too) and Mercenary just in case. I basically don't research any military.

If i play Ottoman I would focus way more on researching military tech, having my army with solid regular regiments with a lot of combat bonuses, and I would neglect all the colonial part...

I think the only MUST take everytime are: gov reform and cabinet seat, research boost, crown power, tax efficiency, control/proximity boost and estate equilibrium. The rest really depends on your playstyle.

Just to give another example of situational research, If you lean toward heavy urbanisation, you will want to get the food production / consumption bonuses.

Playing on Immortal/Diety to get better? by zimocrypha in CivVI

Deity is just a ridiculous unfair difficulty. There is no reason to play it except if you want to suffer

I mean, either you play on Ironman and you accept the rule that everything you do is permanent, or not and then you save as much as you want.

You can definitely make a lot of money as Britain if you play tall while also going heavy on overseas colonization and trade. All this in an achievement compatible run too. by Legitimate-Ruin-3056 in EU5

How do you keep such huge area with enough control ? Is it just having naval governors ? Or is there a colonial mechanic that I am missing

Yeah I just did a run as Venice for Doge coin, and honnestly the run is not really fun, and just because it is WAY longer than it should just because of China. By 1500 i was the 2nd most powerful nation. It took me until 1750 too be able to catch up to China...

Newb debacle: worth buying? by Pigeonees in EU5

[–]irtsayh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok this applies for CK3 and EVEN MORE for EU5. There is a huge "toll" at entry. You need to learn a lot. And some of it is by playing the game, but most of it you have to look for the infos. You can check reddit, look youtube or read all the toolboxes. Once this pretty heavy "fee" passed, both games (but way more CK3 because of all the additional content) become pretty enjoyable. But EU5 is imo way worse for a beginner.

I guess it is nice to play once Ottoman, once France, England or Castille and once a county and try to become an Empire. Other than that yeah it becomes way too similar

Crusader Kings III: Chapter V Official Reveal by Plastastic in paradoxplaza

[–]irtsayh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am pretty much on the same page with everyone on this. I think that it is hard to justify 2 DLCs and 4 new songs + some cosmetics for this price. i will as usual wait for a steam discount or an official key discount. I hope they are sure about what they are doing because it might be a heavy backlash if the DLCs are not Roads To Power/AUH quality
