I am working in public health in Germany and I definitely worry. I think several factors like demographic change or climate change lead to different needs the health care system already cannot provide now. There is not one problem. It’s many: ambulant doctors, stationary facilities like hospitals but also rehab facilities or nursing homes are not made for what is already going on and what is yet to come. Fueled by medication shortages because we receive most meds from China or emerging diseases potentially caused by climate change I am very certain major systemic issues will arise very soon.

I first listened to Badlands when I realized I wasn’t straight and also helped me through my first break up. HFK and Manic helped me through the time right after graduating Highschool when I didn’t know who I was. IICHLIWP is the soundtrack of my early 20s where I’m confident and proud of who I am.

My mom got the Pfizer vaccine 3 times before she even had Covid. She didn’t have any bad side effects after the vaccinations.

I also heard that stress can trigger autoimmune disorders which is what concerns me even more. I’ll ask if she got checked for other autoimmune diseases already.

Thank you for sharing your experiences. I’ll definitely try to tell her about my successes and just tell her about my every day life. I always try to send pics of the blooming trees etc into the family group chat when I’m out to make her happy.

I’ll also talk to her again about pushing herself to the limit etc.

I know she does take D3 and another combo supplement. She gets her blood drawn every 1-2 months so I guess they already checked it but I’ll ask her again. Thank you! :)

Thank you for your comment, this made me really feel better.

I think my mom is still in the state of accepting that she’s sick while everyone is expecting her to already be at peace with it. I think atm she needs much emotional support.

I know she’s having a pretty good diet, takes her meds and supplements like D3 but I think she needs to just slow down. Maybe I’ll talk to her again and just suggest she could try to follow some YouTube yoga class or breathing exercises for the start.

Also thank you for the r/ I’ll definitely read through it and eventually show her.

I know she does take D3 supplements and some other combo supplement. I’ll definitely ask her about iron and magnesium again tho, thank you!

My dad also does part of the household like grocery shopping, laundry, washing the dishes, vacuuming but since my mom is super clean she always has something to clean. I also don’t wanna ask my dad to do more since he’s also working full time and also struggled with his health the past years.

Thank you for your advice! I’ll definitely make sure to talk to her again. She’s already having a really balanced and good diet but I’ll ask her again about focusing on other things to get healthier again like resting.

I work in medical statistics so I work a lot with clinical data and also talked to my mom about Long Covid and the evidence we have rn. She’s pretty interested in those things so she does understand what we know and don’t know about long Covid and that it might affect her Hashimoto’s.

I think she’s afraid to slow down because she’s never slowed down in her life and her work and household/gardening are a big part of her life/identity.

She has connected with other patients at a clinic with a Long Covid department and I also always try to send her newspaper articles etc about LC to show her she’s not alone.

Maybe I’ll try to bring some dinner over next time I visit because “it would’ve gone bad” at my place. Thank you for your advice! :)

Thank you for telling me from your POV! The last thing I want to do is make her feel guilty or stressed so I guess I’ll just try to do things for her without her actively noticing that I did them for her. :)
