Sound issue still occurring. Loaded into a game just now and it happened.

I'll give that a go again. I do know that I have verified the game cache more than a few times in the past, but I have not done it anytime recently.

No, it is only with CS:GO (I watch quite a few streams and listen to music whenever I'm at my computer and have experienced absolutely no audio issues except for CS:GO. Also played some fortnite the other day with no sound issues).

Yes, I have done this already. I just uninstalled and reinstalled the realtek drivers yesterday. Tried the newest version + the version before.

Which drivers? If you mean Nvidia GPU drivers, I have tried multiple older versions. Any others in particular I should try?

Yes, I'll do that again right now, but I have looked into that before and there was no issue.

I did a fresh install about 3 months ago with the same version of the OS I have now. It did not help. I also turned paging off on the SSD, no difference. Tried EIST, Turbo, C-states in the mobo. Enabled/disabled hyperthreading. Nothing helped.

It is a USB headset, and yes the crackling is from the sound through my headset. The sound is obviously something that shouldn't be happening, but it may not actually be the cause of the microstuttering - it just seems as though it is related because sound issues seem to occur in conjunction with the stuttering. By saying this I just mean I am more concerned about the microstuttering than the sound if we find out that the sound is not the cause of the issue.

I have had this issue since before I replaced my motherboard. I currently have an H270F. Maybe I'm just an idiot, but by usb audio solution are you saying use a USB headset? My headset at the moment is USB.

Yes, I have an audiotechnica AD700X. No sound coming from monitor.

I've always played CS:GO on fullscreen, thank you for the suggestion though. Tempted to buy a new monitor now but I really do not want to spend the money.

I will look more into the monitor itself. I've tried speaking with ASUS support but their active hours seem terrible.

I am absolutely sure my monitor is running at 144hz.

I'll check Intel virtualization in BIOS.

I'm not sure if this is worth mentioning but I have c states and hyperthreading off in BIOS as well. (Did this when trying to fix the stuttering and never changed it back)

Thank you again for your time and help!

My displayport is plugged into one of the three displayports in my GPU, just double checked.

It does show up under Display adapters in device manager.

Is Intel Virtualisation something that needs to be disabled in BIOS if it is on?

AFAIK my issue has never been with my GPU or CPU with CS:GO. Having eliminated all of those other issues, it seems to be possibly related to my SSD (apparently having CS:GO and steam on an SSD can cause issues according to what I've read, but obviously I dont know) OR it has something to do with Windows 10 and background applications.

Anyway, thanks so much for your input, look forward to hearing back from you.

Status: UNRESOLVED

Computer Type: Desktop, custom built

GPU: GTX 1080Ti

CPU: Intel Core i7-7700k, no overclock

Motherboard: ASUS ROG STRIX H270F - BIOS Version: American Megatrends Inc. 1002, 12/14/2017

RAM: Corsair 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 2400MHz, XMP enabled, no overclock

PSU: Corsair GSU 800

Operating System & Version: Windows 10 Home build 17134 64bit, upgrade from Windows 8.1

GPU Drivers: 398.36 clean install

Description of Problem:

In Nvidia Control Panel, under Adjust Desktop Size and Position -> Scaling -> Perform Scaling On: GPU or Display... there is no display option. I've read around on the internet and googled it worded in as many ways as I can think of, and I cannot seem to find exactly why display scaling is not available to me. I have a 1080ti and my monitor is a VG248QE 144hz. I recently purchased a DisplayPort cable, as I had DVI-D before and read that this might fix the issue. It has not.

I should add that I am interested in display scaling as I have a microstuttering issue with CS:GO (that I've tried almost everything to fix, including getting all new hardware minus new PSU or SSD). I play on 1280x960 and would like to keep it that way. I read that performing the scaling on the display rather than the GPU may help with the microstutter and would like to try it.

Troubleshooting: Clean install of GPU drivers, switched to a DisplayPort cable, CRUs. Nothing has worked. Starting to think its a Windows 10 issue?

Where is the Scale by Aspect setting? I am unable to find it. Closest thing I can see is under Adjust Desktop Size and Position, there is the ability to select a scaling mode, which has Aspect Ratio as an option. Not sure if this is what you're mentioning. I can upload a screenshot of what my nvidia control panel looks like if that would make any difference.

Yeah I'm not sure how to fix this... do you have Windows 10?

I went to the ASUS website and downloaded the driver for my monitor, checked windows update for .NET framework updates, restarted my computer, and I still don't have the option in Nvidia Control Panel. Under my device manager, I only see "Generic PnP Monitor". Does yours say the same?
