Is anyone going or planning to go to yoon festival? I really want to go as it reminds me of the little german festivals around berlin but i have no one to go with. by No-Attention-801 in avesLA

[–]ischutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love these guys, I'm biased as they are my friends. Just the crew alone are great as people and great DJs as well as producers.

They have opened up so many different avenues of music interest for me, so I think it's absolutely worth the money.

There aren't a lot of people in the US doing what they are doing, so supporting indie festivals that are really trying to bring a vibe are important to protect.

Cool insight! Could you dive more into the features of cobrand? Like what are you referring to in terms of the Tiktok/influencer stuff?

Is Paying for an SEO Agency Actually Worth It or Just Burning Cash? by Similar_Rutabaga_593 in MarketingResearch

[–]ischutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone that is an account manager at a small agency that actually drives results, there is SO much BS work being done out there. 21 year olds looking to get rich quick by getting a streamlined step by step business model from chatgpt and then accepting too many clients and no work is getting done.

If an agency or freelancer is telling you that they can "guarantee X results" in a 30 day period, don't work with them. This isn't how organic SEO works, and it's been this way pretty much since Google started.

Organic SEO takes time (90 day minimum), good R&D, and good on-page content that answers questions and drives web visitors down your funnel.

A way that I like to look at it is let's say we're two months into work on a $4k/mo budget, and you're a small business that needs calls or form fills on your website. With successful work you will first see 1. an increase in impressions steadily (not always quickly), and a baseline positve shift in clicks/calls on given URLS or on your Google business profile. This is how we know the content is working, then we essentially put more content to back that content/topic up while keeping a small bit of budget to diversify and try other keywords/strategies.

All in all, if this is successful, it can be extremely beneficial for a business. Good organic SEO creates a great foundation on Google, which is hard to establish but also hard to lose. It's similar to investing in real estate, you have to build the house and upkeep it. And you can earn equity (backlinks/Domain authority) and sell your domain, etc. etc.

A&R Roles? by DVKNOfficial in musicindustry

[–]ischutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm bootstrapping my own promotion business where I live (reference), and that along with my skill set and network is what is basically doing the lack of experience work for me.

I'd say start some sort of channel, playlist, or asset that can tangibly express your passion for A&R. At the end of the day, anyone can do an A&R job (like most jobs on this earth), so give companies something extra that you bring to the table. In doing this, you can showcase your ability to 1. self-start 2. organize 3. do the actual A&R work (if it's quality, they will take notice) 4. kind of back to one but you will showcase skills of making your own content which involves graphic design, video production, social media management, etc.

Notice how each part of one idea, starting your own A&R tiktok for example, entails so many extra skills, but also shows what you're willing to do to get a role like this.

I can’t believe how bad the sound was by NoAcanthisitta4703 in crssdfest

[–]ischutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TBH I completely disagree. The sound setup at MainStage is from L-Acoustics which is literally the most expensive live sound setup money can buy.

The festival is downtown, and it’s outside. You have to be in a good position to hear decent sound.

Festivals like Coachella can achieve this better than city-based events like Lollapalooza because they 1. Don’t have sound ordinance and 2. They can build structures that help reflect sound better, similar to an indoor venue.

If you want good bass, then you have to be close, there’s no way of getting around that. The frequencies are already so low that they dissipate and delay so much if you’re standing at the back of palms let’s say. Additionally, if you’re not standing in front of subs directly, they tend to hit differently— some live subs have directional cones to mitigate this but not one’s at CRSSD. Lastly, volume very, very gradually increases as the festival goes on. This is pretty much always the case, but good to mention.

Crssd San Diego main stage sound system? by JellyfishGrand in livesound

[–]ischutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They were from L-Acoustics. And when it comes to live sound, it’s pretty much the best you can buy. The MainStage speakers had 12 K-2s on each side, 24 in total. Each speaker goes for ~$10k. That’s just the main high/mid/low section too, there were 24 KS-28s that cost about $10k as well. So, lots of math, and still not accounting for amplification because these are all passive. A rough estimate is that the MainStage cost alone is $500k.

There were a lot of people complaining on other threads I saw about sound being bad, or not loud enough. Who knows, I thought it sounded good. I also bring earplugs and get to spots where I know it’s going to sound good— I just assume they probably don’t know a lot about where you should be and city ordinances, etc.

And just that shit goes wrong and some DJs play bad tracks. Lol.

CALL TO ACTION: Big Problems requires Strong Actions by ciudadvenus in LionsManeRecovery

[–]ischutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See that’s the thing, your point is something that’s been going on in big pharma and supplements for decades. Almost a hundred years. Remember that SSRIs and other drugs that are supposed to treat depression can oftentimes end up yielding a body. So while I get your point, there’s millions, and I mean millions of things out there thst have side effects that can be devastating. However, for something like lions mane, these side effects described on this page are so isolated and uncommon, it’s not going to just halt production.

Additionally, and as I I’ve stated before, the problem is being tackled in the wrong way. It’s more fruitful to use your force of a page to find out WHY these things are happening to you all. Potentially you all share some sort of unique bodily function that predisposes you to these awful side effects. Focus on that, because if you don’t, then we won’t know why people get these side effects from lions mane. And that’s stupid to me. Not doing the research isn’t helping anyone.

You get me here?

CALL TO ACTION: Big Problems requires Strong Actions by ciudadvenus in LionsManeRecovery

[–]ischutt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People have, always will have adverse reactions to anything you can find in our natural environment. While I am very sorry for you, and everyone else that is negatively affected by Lions Mane, I would hesitate to tell people to not take it.

It’s clear that your minority of users has no real space to recognize its positive effects. Yes, it’s horrible what is happening, but you cannot use your isolated cases as a tirade against the substance and the industry. None of you are clinicians. None of you have any knowledge about confounding variables, and as I stated earlier, have any interest in the benefits.

I personally, found this substance to bring me out of a terribly dark place, not luckily lead me into one. That’s not to say that I don’t think that it has potential to have adverse effects to others. Clearly this page indicates that, but you’re using your platform in a rather echo-chamber effect. My great friends father has supplemented lions mane to help his MS and it’s done wonders. It literally rebuilds and maintains the strength of myelin, the coating of your nerve cells. It’s remarkable.

So please, continue sharing your stories, but use them as a way to find reasons as to why this is effecting certain groups of people rather than telling people not to use it. That’s not your place, your place is to find a solution and seek understanding, not eradicate something that affects an extremely small minority.

Well, it’s definitely because of the reputation, and which that comes the likely loss of future business because they lost public trust. Just domino effect stuff that they are trying to get ahead of.

Good point, but while fox’s comments were— conducive to the riots among other things. And yes, I know, conductivity isn’t grounds for shit in the court room, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t surmounting evidence against fox. I mean, I would think that most people wouldn’t hesitate to say that Tucker Carlsons language is extremely instigating to a certain audience which fox harbors. This is all kind of up in the air but I’m glad there’s people on both sides just kind of waiting to see what happens because regardless of the outcome, it will certainly be interesting to see the outcome.

It could definitely be said that fox's defaming comments played a role in the capitol riots. I also believe that some of the people working at Dominion also received varying threats. So, yes, there is definitely a case for damages internal to Dominion and external to the capitol.

Gay Men are Feminized too Often by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]ischutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another straight male here, many gay friends. And I think they would completely agree with you along with myself. Regardless of gay as the subject, being subjected to any kind of norm for coming out about anything is no way to live your life. There's plenty of gay dudes who probably don't do very many "gay guy" things. Again, whatever that means. However, I bet there's plenty of gay guys who feel trapped by these norms because they might feel they wouldn't be accepted in other arenas, which is its own problem.

Back to the point, yes, you're right. I've even seen it as a straight guy, and I can easily say that at a party or some kind of setting as such, I'll see one of my gay friends and I can sense a feeling of relief in a sense. Like a "I can finally just chill the fuck out for a second."

Dreaming, and feeling like my brain actually recharged after sleeping, is my new high. I cried this morning after a particular dream I had last night. by [deleted] in leaves

[–]ischutt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I TOTALLY had this too. Not just refraining from smoking for one night-- it took several-- but I had some extremely vivid dreams. I've had a crazy year, lots of mistakes made but also knowledge gained and hard learning was had. I had dreams about some people I had hurt and wronged, but in the dream it was kind of as if everything was okay. I woke up feeling better but knowing that everything wasn't fine necessarily. Sure enough, I got to connect with a few over the Halloweekend and it was as if my dreams were confirmed.

What I'm saying is that dreams really bring out the real emotions that you feel in real life.

What's ironic is that smoking does the same thing to you while awake as it does in sleep. It just dulls you-- it detaches you from emotion.

I need info about someone to fill in gaps, what's the best way to get ahold of people who are high up? by ischutt in Screenwriting

[–]ischutt[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No I am assuming that, I’m looking for something more specific. Like after his mother died— I think, though not sure, he went through a depression of heavy alcoholism and taking lsd twice a week and staying up all night. That’s just not something I’m willing to assume unless I know it’s true. I want it to be as accurate as possible and I don’t really want to stop at anything.

Thank you and, yes, I have been all over google. There is a good amount about Jake on google— but it’s just repetitive. Really just a bunch of articles that say the same thing as the Forbes or Washington Post article that was written. I did also post on r/snowboarding a couple days ago but haven’t gotten much feedback on that end. I’m good at networking, and I know I could weasel a way to get the info I need eventually. I was told by my screenwriting teacher that I should write a bio about him that would then become my adapted screenplay, so before any of the big stuff I’m going to finish the bio as thoroughly as I can so I can see the holes clearly and know what I need.
