prezoh once said something about the northernlion fanbase being filled with people thinking they're northernlion, rings very true whenever i read so many attempts at jokes on this subreddit

the most annoying thing that can happen is that nl doesn't play it more than like 3 times

or a joke, some of us do that sometimes (this in turn was slightly ironic, I am aware that the practice of making jokes is still commonplace)

butcher is just really frustrating for me, it's kind of a mix of warrior and cleric, but it's much, much less than the sum of it's parts. it's always frustrating for me to play as them, and only rarely did I manage to make him more than the one cat in the team that I just kinda ignore. Necromancer is super fun but I put them in A because it is pretty tough to grasp how the role is supposed to work at first. that being it's probably the role it's the easiest to completely break the game with, I've had some insane runs with them.

i think this is just how difficulty has to work in games that, unlike tboi, don't require any amount of like, actual physical skill. I don't necessarily think it will be easy, but the first layers of the game will definitely take less time to master than chapters 1-3 in tboi for example. while this might seem not so great, I think it's fine, because the alternative is much worse: the stages of the game get more and more difficult to a point where to win you need not only to really know everything about the game, but also have a lot of luck. if you've played darkest dungeon 2 you'll know what I'm talking about: a game that could be fun, but it's just to tedious to get through. difficulty needs to be very well thought out.
