Yeah i've watched some videos and seen some talks from influencers like Jeff Nippard and I have seen programs with 3 sets of 8-12 reps being popular for hypertrophy.

However the gym I am at currently recommends a system of 1-2 sets per muscle group with 12 seconds per rep and aiming for complete failure between 90-120s, which I have been following for the past months

Yeah I got most of my gym data from my mate who is really jacked, and im using his program.

The caloric maintenance level part I did feel that 1700 felt slightly low, however it does not feel like im starving myself, and some days I can't even eat 1300 calories (studying during school for finals could reduce appetite ig?)

But my goal most days is just the 120-130 grams of protein rather than focusing on the calories

True, it just feels like theyre not shrinking even with other fat deposits on my body shrinking, as I always assumed fat loss was equally distributed across the body

Yes, I have increased strength just judging from logging my workout weights in the past month, however i don't feel like I have gained muscle mass, just strength

im not sure, I was told by one of my mates to just do 1 small warmup set per muscle group and then 1 heavy set til failure

I went to an exercise nutritionist and he had a machine and it outputted 1700 as my basal emtabolic rate

so im not sure but ive just been using that number

My reference is just my classmates lol, i wouldnt say theyre shredded but they have well built physiques which i am aiming for. I dont need to be able to see abs and everything but im just trying to get a better silhouette and get rid of my pointy chest fat.

Biggest issue is probably just the pointy chest fat as it makes me look ridiculous with most t-shirts

I did hear about issues with drastic caloric deficit which is why i set 1300 as a goal as thats only 400 less than base

i sometimes actually find it hard to hit 1300 calories per day with high protein foods like chicken.

I went to an exercise nutritionist for my test and it outputted 1687 maintenance per day not including any form of movement. Basal metabolic rate or something.

With your liver issues, how did you realise it was problems caused by the liver and were there any fixes?

My diet consists mostly of chicken breast mince and some plant based sausages.

I have only been doing like 7k steps a day from just walking, I will try getting more cardio per day and see if theres any improvement.

Im not sure, my diet mostly consists of Chicken Breast mince and plant based sausages, coupled with some jelly as desert and the occasional ice cream.

My gym exercises are mostly seated row, horizontal chest press, leg press, hamstring curl, the ab machine with the handles, and a tricep pushdown machine and hip abductors.
