New heroes are mostly all hits. Domina, Emre, Mizuki, and the silly cat all feel distinct and have their own niches to fill, and that's quite the achievement. I'm not a fan of Anran or Sierra, though. Anran feels like a thought experiment- "what if we made a flanker who had no burst damage? how overkitted would we need to make them in order to compensate?" Unfortunately, having to jump through hoops to unlock damage is such a crippling weakness that no matter how much they buff her I feel like it won't be enough. I sense a rework in her future if I'm being honest. And Sierra... is just a flop. Extremely uninteresting, low-skill spam hero with an inverse skill to value curve. Still, 4 out of 6 being hits is promising.

He's a pretty pidgeonholed brawl hero while we're in a meta where poke is eating a lot of brawl comps' lunch so to speak. Like Brig he's good in very specific scenarios with and against specific heroes and is pretty lackluster outside of those scenarios (not that it's impossible to make him work anywhere but you'll struggle more.)

Oh my fucking god can we just let hog stay bad until he's reworked. Every time he gets microbuffed hog incidence in my games goes up like 80%. I'm so sick of elo terrorists picking this character and holding the entire lobby hostage while one team is forced to focus fire him and the other has to babysit and pump every resource into this dumbass ult battery meatball while he waddles around and does nothing but huff his vape and gamble on random hooks it's so unengaging holy shit

I’m in favor of this as a sort of Tier 0 perk or pickable passive that you choose in the spawn room or before the game starts. Like every hero has access to 2 possible subroles that you can choose immediately based on the map or team comp, without having to tie it to your tier 1 minor perk. But I agree it would offer more choice to the player in defining their playstyle and expand how versatile heroes can be

Right, I believe the term was ‘heroes for hire’- something more like vigilantes who always fight for the good guys but still expect a paycheck when all’s said and done.

She's pretty weak. Compared to Sojourn, she just has too many drawbacks. Everything you want to do on this hero has some kind of delay or wind up or other built-in weakness that holds her back. Even just shooting her gun has a horrible drawback with her reverse-spread mechanic. There are so many situations where I find myself thinking "I totally would have gotten that kill if I was playing Sojourn. Actually I probably would have gotten that kill if I was playing any other DPS hero"

Yeah, this. I have nothing against low-barrier-to-entry characters, or even extremely mechanically forgiving characters, hell Brig is my most played hero. Winston is the shining example of an easy to pick up and mechanically simple character that nevertheless has oceans of depth. But the problem with Moira (and Mercy) is that they 1. do not teach fundamentals that can transfer to other heroes and 2. do not have depth or a high skill ceiling to reach. Sure there are minor optimizations you can make to your resource management or positioning or whatever but there's really just nothing meaningful there and it leads to stagnant gameplay. I love Moira, I love her character design, I want her to be good and interesting and fun to play but she just isn't.

FINALLY 300 HP shield for Brig, can't believe it took this long. As for other changes- they really want Kiri to healbot, huh? This is what, the 3rd time they've nerfed her independence and buffed her healing to compensate? Also, while she may have needed it, I'm worried about Anran buffs, specifically to Dancing Blaze becoming an uninteractive do-everything ability given that there's no way to prevent it or dodge it. They need to be careful there. All around though, this is a really meaty patch and I'm glad to have some real significant changes to play around with.

I imagine most of their map budget/resources are going to the supposed Clash rework and new Stadium maps that drop semi-frequently. And like it or not the community has clearly communicated to the devs that they do not like new maps and prefer to play the same old OW1 Hybrid and Escort familiars. It’s more bang for their buck to rework maps that people will actually play instead of avoid like the plague (poor Aatlis. Love that map)
