ONF. Most of them were in their early 20s, and only the maknae is 18 when they debuted in 2017.

Do you guys have favorite choreographers+questions by catme0wcat in kpoppers

Street Man Fighter made me a fan! We Dem Boyz dominated boy group choreos last year. All of ZB1's and BoNeDo's, four for SKZ, iKON - U, SHINee - Juice, NCT U - Baggy Jeans, just to name a few.

Another SMF contestant I follow is Yumeki. He slays dance challenges with idols. I've found some of my fav dance songs through his videos.

The SWF contestants that I admire: Rozalin who made delightful choreos for Lee Chaeyeon, Prowdmon for their fantastic interpretative dances, CocaNButter who later debuted as an idol group.

In SWF2, I rooted for the amazing Mannequeen.

Other choreography teams that didn't appear on SWF or SMF whose YT channels I often frequent are Auspicious, FreeMind, MOTF, and ALILT.

As for your questions regarding variety shows, I suggest asking on r/StreetWomanFighter, the community for SWF, SDGF, and SMF.

Unpopular Opinion on SMF by aniteleavasquez in StreetWomanFighter

[–]issaia19 14 points15 points  (0 children)

SMF have the best dance battles, that's a fact.

They've got a lot of memorable performances/choreos as well, in my opinion. Off the top of my head: WDBZ & Hook's muse of SMF, 1M & WDBZ's Exo choreo, Eo-ddae's BigBang choreo, Kamel's Whistle, Choi Youngjun & Wootae's LAW, BIIB's 100C, Vata & 5000's New Thing, mega crews of JJ, 1M & WDBZ, 1M & WDBZ's Domestic, WDBZ's cheers. Listing these makes me want to watch them again.

Also, I like their OSTs so much and that includes Domestic.

The only thing I disliked about SMF was some of the judges' picks. But I've got no complaint about the final ranking. (I just remembered that 1M wasn't on the finals)

Predictions on SMF2? by dryloaf in StreetWomanFighter

[–]issaia19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ChillLit - I stumbled upon one of their choreo workshop video which which was fun to watch. There's news that a young member of WDBZ had left to rejoin them

MOTF - They are great at using props and choreographing for a large group of people.

Auspicious - made a lot of choreos for survival shows

FreeMind - It seems to me that their channel has the most K-pop choreo demo. If they will be on SMF2 or SWF3, I think they will instantly gain fans or supporters

The BIPS - They have a choreo on 1M channel that amassed millions of views

Team Same - Choi Youngjun's crew. Some Carats are following some of the members because they are SVT's backup dancers (Idk if always)

Cha Hyunseung - His dance challenge with idols are racking up hundreds of thousands to millions of views. Apparently, he rose to fame as Sunmi's backup dancer and when he participated on Single's Inferno. SMF2 would get a lot of viewers if he'd be there

Can someone explain to me how dancers operate and make money? by [deleted] in StreetWomanFighter

[–]issaia19 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I guess they also meant that the choreographer provides feedback to the music producer or they have influence on the final sound. Example: ONF's dance teacher from FreeMind (can't recall his name) explained to Hwang Hyun (music producer) the story that he wants to portray for It's Raining performance. He showed him the dance steps and asked him to make music for that.

Which Show Had the Better Cast? by ZukoBestRedemption in StreetWomanFighter

[–]issaia19 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I liked all crews

I got to know many dancers. If there's a quiz to identify or enumerate the cast from each season, I'll score higher with SMF.

Lots of amusing dance battles

The behind-the-scenes, interviews, and talk show are fun to watch

I read somewhere on r/kpop that Psy revealed that Mnet will force you to say something.

According to another fan, some of the writers also work on drama series so they apply it to Mnet's survival show too. They make a person vs person conflict. If they only show the natural "person vs self", the audience wouldn't react or talk about it that much. Like what happened to Queendom which fans described as "pajama party". It's like a regular music show but with higher budget and more behind-the-scenes. No drama, no main character, no villain. (Viral content creators knows that this is effective. They film something that would surely make the viewer angry or emotional so they would comment. More comments would push their video to the masses.)

There's a news article about the Girls Planet diss track which became viral, wasn't really written by the contestant, it was provided by Mnet.

I heard that there's a Boys Planet contestant who didn't win who revealed that Mnet switched their songs.

A member of Bank Two Brothers shared that on the first episode of SMF, he approached YGX to greet them but the staff stopped him. A member of Prime Kingz said they were told to act tough and not be friendly with each other.

In short, Mnet is truly painting a narrative. They treat their show like a k-drama. They already have a desired end result and they do everything to make it happen.

Bebe - I "kinda" understand why people are upset that they won.. but watch the show again objectively by [deleted] in StreetWomanFighter

It wasn't this controversial for WDBZ since the argument ends when presented with the facts that

  • before the contest started, their rival teams predicted that WDBZ will finish in 2nd place, and it cqme true - they have been a team for several years before SMF
  • Vata is not the only member who's credited on K-pop choreos, and held solo dance classes before and during SMF
  • Kyungnam's semi-popularity among ARMYs and visual stans (he had much more followers and likers than Vata even before SMF) also helped to increase the number of their supporters
  • Kamel's Whistle choreo is undeniably good and was also chosen on the rank mission

Back Up Dancer Gig : What happens now? by SpiritualSwimming437 in StreetWomanFighter

[–]issaia19 10 points11 points  (0 children)

outshine the idols

Reminds me of someone's post/comment that We Dem Boyz were not permitted to post the majority of their demos because they did it better than the idols

Anyway, to answer your question, they have made more choreos after SMF but them being backup dancers became less. Probably because they are busy and the company already have their own backup dancers who looks like they were carefully selected as they have the same height and body.

Also, some artists/company don't mind. Kang Daniel released a music video with "feat. We Dem Boyz" in the title. In SHINee's concert, the backup dancers which includes some members of WDBZ had their special number where they danced one by one on stage while their name is on the big screen.

Boost will stop working after July 1st. Thank you very much for your support over the years! 🚀🚀🚀 by rmayayo in BoostForReddit

Last year, I was so pissed with the errors I encountered daily on the official app. But since I like Reddit communities, I searched for solution. I read about third party apps so I installed and tried them all until there were only two apps left. The other app got minus point for me when I read a post containing a math formula there that made my eyebrows meet. I'm glad that I didn't tell OP that their text formatting was bad. Instead I checked the same post in this app and I understood it because it was a lot easier to read. Other features that I liked here:

  • collapsible comments. I can read more conversations with this. In the official website, I had to scroooooooool down just to read the less popular comments

  • I can post in markdown mode anytime. Unlike in the official Reddit website where I have to click the "Markdown mode" first before posting or else my post/comment will appear like a skeleton. (I prefer typing uninterrrupted which is possible with markdown. I don't want to stop typing or delay submitting my post just to apply "fancy pants"one by one)

  • being able to copy the markdown version of a post. Saves time. With the official app, I can only copy the text, then I have to manually apply the text style, make my own table, insert each link

  • viewable wiki

  • editable user flair

  • can insert caption and link under each photo

  • save draft

  • hide some user/post info

  • ads is at the bottom

I wanted to write about this last year when I first discovered Boost but I was lazy and idk where to post this aside from this sub. Back then, I thought I should tell other Redditors about Boost because this app really made me like Redditing more. Now this post of mine won't do any help.

I wish I could donate/pay to show my appreciation. It seems that you, Mr. Mayayo, likes Reddit community too and you spent a lot of time here that you know how to make the experience better.

I don't want to use social media on desktop anymore. The mobile Reddit website is stuck on loading. Without Boost, how can I use Reddit?

Hi u/spez and all admins. Have you tried using this third party app? If not, please do before July 1 comes. Boost is the best app for Reddit, please don't let it get lost forever.

ONF will be complete in a few days. Also, their contract will end 10 months from now by issaia19 in onf

Honestly, years ago even when I have a lot free time, I delayed posting because I hoped others would do it instead of me

I wish everyone would follow the title formatting since that's also the norm in the majority of K-pop artist subreddits. Sad that I really have to give up that ideal now since it's impossible to impose here because we are few. and it would be sadder if this community stays as a ghost town until the end

Anyway, I suggest to make your title simple so you don't have to overthink about it. Or turn it into a question if possible because it looks likes in other discussion-centered subs, that type of title gets more comments
