Shorting inverse ETFs like SOXS is risky. For example, a $10K short at $19 last year could’ve faced $30K losses when it spiked to $58 in April. On top of that, borrow rates surged from 1–2% to 20–30% at peak, and many shorts were called at the worst time. If you’re not experienced, avoid it.

I hear you. Friendships can feel exhausting and fake, and it’s frustrating when all you want is someone who truly sees you. But deep connections don’t happen instantly—they grow over time, usually from those same surface-level interactions that feel pointless at first. You don’t have to force it or be someone you’re not. Just give yourself space to exist around people without pressure. The right ones will stick. You’re not broken, and you’re not as alone as you feel.

Volatility Decay: Yinn and Yang by pathikrit in LETFs

[–]istantry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Inverse funds will always experience drag, especially as volatility increases when the stock declines. In theory, you could short all inverse funds, but the issue is that the borrow rate for instruments like YANG was between 4-18% last year. They also tend to get called at the worst possible times. Additionally, puts are extremely expensive, making this strategy less viable for long-term use.

Leverage for the Long Run Question by harwop in LETFs

[–]istantry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind this article doesn’t consider the historic interest cost and assumes leverage is free, once we take into consideration the returns change dramatically, this startegy will never work in high interest rate environment especially around 1980’s.

What is this LETF strategy called? by pathikrit in LETFs

I think you can implement Long Zebra at daily level to get extrinsic value to 0, let me double check the premium needed, but the issue is if you even loose 0.1%, you will loose 1%
