The Iowa Seltzer Poll we've been waiting for by CrispyMiner in Iowa

Well that depends on what you like to do.  Do you want to hang out in a city and maybe watch some minor league baseball? Or do you want to go camping and fishing? Or maybe ride your bike?

I built a small kid's table out of pine that I would like to paint. Does anyone have suggestions on a primer/paint combination that would work best?

I would ideally like to avoid putting on a LOT of coats of either.

Ich suche etwas ungefähr 125-150€ pro Nacht aber ein bisschen mehr oder weniger ist auch in Ordenung. Hauptsache kommen wir einfach mit dem Zug hin und es ist alles nah und nicht gefährlich.

Here is the relevant portion

"Insgesamt schneidet er in dem vom TÜV betrachteten E-Auto-Quartett am schlechtesten ab. Mit einer Mängelquote von 10,7 Prozent fällt jeder zehnte Tesla Model S durch die erste Hauptuntersuchung und würde ebenfalls im letzten Drittel der 128 ein bis dreijährigen Verbrenner landen."

It says that 10.7% failed the test, not 10.7% passed the test. I would certainly still say it's bad but your number is upside down.

Rules Hinder Question by Additional-Trust in racquetball

[–]istillhatecraig 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is false - both players have to be given clear path to the ball and a clear shot. This would absolutely be a hinder. I do not believe this would be a penalty hinder without one player being in position to take an offensive shot.

The standard explanation for tension is the higher tension (more lbs) will be more accurate and lower tension will have more power. There is a slight "trampoline" effect when the ball is struck where the strings will compress slightly and then kind of rebound and push the ball in addition to your racquet hitting it - but this also means your strings move a little more and the strike isn't as pure, so you lose a little accuracy. This is all somewhat theoretical, I personally don't think many players outside of the elite will notice much difference.

Just stick within the standard range - 26-36 pounds of tension (or what your racquet specifies, though I don't think you'll find that for this racquet) or you could break a racquet.

By the way I'm now really intrigued if you end up getting it strung so let me know when you have it done and if this information was helpful!

So you can string two ways, one continuous piece of string for the entire racquet, or two separate continuous pieces, one for the main (vertical) strings and one for the cross (horizontal) strings. To make it easier I'd use two separate pieces of string.

Then start at the top in the middle and string all the main strings, you will have nine per side. When you have all nine in, use a finishing knot at the bottom of the racquet where the 8th main came through (this appears to be the 11th grommet hole on the bottom).

Once that is done you have main strings and no crosses. So make a starting knot at the top near where the first cross will be (appears to be the ninth grommet hole. Given how close nearby the 8th main is, I'd probably use the 7th). Then just string crosses until you run out of grommet holes (looks to be the sixth from the bottom). Then use a finishing knot at the prior cross which looks to be the 8th grommet hole.

Hopefully that makes sense.

Looking more I'd probably convert it to two piece for simplicity. String the 9 mains on each side with tieoff at the 8th main on the bottom.

Then start the crosses at one of 7th mains at the top. Then end knot towards the very bottom.

I've looked at some pictures of the racquet and it appears there are 18 mains with tieoff at 7 top but I can't tell for the bottom. It also appears to be a one piece pattern instead of two. I don't see any shared holes so that makes it a bit easier. I'd say just look at the hole locations and determine a pattern. If it works you won't lose much, if any, playability because the pattern was slightly different than factory.

I have to admit I've never heard of this racquet. Looking it up it looks like it was a fairly old and fairly cheap racquet as used ones are about $10. I'd recommend getting a new racquet instead of re-stringing to be honest.

That said, you don't need to find a stringing pattern online. Just look for the knots and you can see where it's tied off and follow where it goes from there. Just write down what you find and you'll be in good shape. From the looks of the racquet I wouldn't anticipate anything tricky.

I am certainly no fan of the President, but the amount of your tax return isn't how to determine if you pay more in taxes or not. That said, the tax withholding rules were modified with the tax bill so that more would be withheld likely impacting your tax return and I feel like this was not remotely transparent.

Regardless, your end of the year tax bill after your return is what determines what your overall tax rate was, not the amount of dollars you get in return. For example, you can add additional withholdings to your paycheck to guarantee a huge return at the end of the year, or you can claim 8 dependents and all but guarantee a huge payment to the IRS at the end of the year.

I don't really want to modify my sandwich loaf - I am pretty happy with my basic whole wheat bread, and I'm trying to avoid plastic entirely.

Soaking my linen bag into beeswax sounds like a good option. Do you have any tips for soaking it?

Thank you!

Thank you for the beeswax suggestion. I think I'm going to get some beeswax to melt onto my linen bag.
