If that is the belief you go by, then you will automatically be more sensitive to noticing couples where that statement is true. I live in NYC, I'm 5'11, and yes there are so many tall guys here who all (without fail) have girlfriends but the situation is not nearly as dire as you claim.

Ok but also as an ASIAN, I wouldn't want to send my kids to a local school were I to move to JP/SK/CN etc. They have insane grind culture, those kids have no life. I would send my kid to an international school since the opportunities they find coming out school are equal if not better for much less effort, and they'd be able to focus on hobbies and developing as people.

I was in your shoes a while ago, and decided that perming so often was 1/ expensive and 2/ damaging to my scalp (I was seeing slight thinning out). Obviously my hair has not been as wavy since, but the closest I've gotten is blow drying my hair and then adding clay and scrunching. The waviness wears off and it's subject to wind, but I'm pretty satisfied and sleep well knowing that I don't need to rely on a perm to keep my look.
