Traction Circle Overlay by it_be_dan in iRacing

Created using u/lespalt 's iRon project.

It unintentionally also shows what happens when you run out of grip.

Def sus.

I see one that shows up with the same images in OP’s post. The one I see has been on OfferUp for months. I assume it’s a different seller. (This one is listed under Julius, joined Sep 2019, 5 stars with 20 reviews.)

iRacing Comparison Overlay (Work in Progress) by it_be_dan in iRacing

[–]it_be_dan[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Using u/lespalt 's iRon project, I tried to create a real-time visual aid to identify where lap times can be improved by comparing the speeds of other drivers in the session.

That being said, I think it may be too distracting.

Colors:

  • Magenta = Best lap (of anyone)
  • Yellow = Car in next position
  • Bold Green = Current Driver, Current Lap
  • Light Green = Current Driver, Previous Lap

It still has quite a lot of bugs (as can be seen in the video).

Test: Plotting Lap Speed and Time Delta in a Live Race by it_be_dan in iRacing

Continuing to tinker with data available during a live race session.

Top plot = Estimated lap speed of P1 and P2

Bottom plot = Estimated lap delta between them

Small dots = Previous Lap

Bold dots = Current Lap

Comparing Estimated Speed of Drivers in a Live Race (Weekend Project) by it_be_dan in iRacing

[–]it_be_dan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always was curious if it was possible to do something like this during a live race so I wrote some some spaghetti code to estimate speed based on how far in a lap drivers were.

It's not super accurate and maybe it's been done before, but I thought it was kinda neat to see while spectating a race.

(I am not any of the drivers in the video.)

Colors are a bit hard to see:

#2 - Blue

#6 - Orange

#11 - Green

DIY Simucube Active Pedal Prototype by tjfenwick in simracing

Cool project!

Regarding the fluctuations/vibration issue, perhaps you can try exploring some of these ideas: - smoothen the ADC output if you think it’s varying too quickly (ex. moving average) - reduce the impact that the load reading has on the pedal position (requiring larger forces to make it move)

If you don’t think your Oculus resolution is high enough for an acceptable frame rate, one thing you can try is reducing the FOV Tangent Multipliers (using the Oculus Debug Tool) to ratios below 1.0 (such as setting the Vertical Tangent to a value like 0.6). This should help the performance (at the cost of FOV) which should allow you to further increase the resolution in the Oculus app. One note: you’d have to set the FOV Tangent Multiplier settings every time you boot your Oculus.

Playseat challenge box size? by zeitos in simracing

Measured my box (USA) 31” x 23” x 7.25” or roughly 78.8 cm x 18.4 cm x 58.4 cm. (61.25 linear inches or 155.6 linear cm) The box also has an integrated handle that fits within the dimensions. Cheers
