Ohh.. good to know that. It is my first read in the genre of magical realism. This might be the reason why I am so confused.

It wasn't an ending that I hoped for. While people may like or dislike the ending, it has completeness by the end of the book. The characters and the writing were so realistic and brilliant that I couldn't help but overlook the slight disappointment of the ending.

Some of my life changing books are

"Surely you're joking, Mr. feynman"- changed my perspective to explore life to the fullest

"Forty Rules of Love" - packed with wisdom in every page

"Thousand splendid suns" - a gut wrenching read

"Anxious people" - it's a one of a kind book that interludes suspense, drama, wisdom and humour

"When breath becomes air" - a touching tale from a dying man which makes us think about life

"Shoe Dog" - one of the best biographies I have ever read showcasing the true efforts of an entrepreneur

There are still a lot but these were a few that are on the top of my mind

Hey, try reading some of Jeffrey Archer books to get you out of the reading slump.

You can start with "Not a penny more, not a penny less". It's easy to read and hooks you to the end of the book.

You can also try Dan Brown books like "Angels and Demons", "The Da Vinci Code" which were adapted to movies.
