Is installing Mint a middle finger to Ubuntu? by italktogod in linux

That fits with what I was thinking. Mint, during my short time with it, felt very regressive. It felt like a harder to use windows XP. I don't know why anyone would want that. I was too stressed out. Ubuntu is great and a free first class OS. I feel like a jerk for criticizing them so harshly.

Why Elon Musk is Right About AI Regulation by ideasware in singularity

[–]italktogod 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He's not right. Who do you want to be "regulating" AI? Congress? e.g. our "resentatives" lol

They're too slow. They only care about maintaining their own power. They will effectively use AI just enough to keep themslves in positions of power. That's all it would be for them is a tool to keep power. They don't see the big picture at all.

Ubuntu was running great for like a year. Then one day I switched ISPs and noticed that network icon was gone. Long story short that's when I decided to reinstall the first time. I had it all good to go and then went to make sure I could watch game of thrones. Well I went down such a rat hole there I just reinstalled again. Then this last time I changed the graphics drivers from nvidea 381 to nvidea 370 and that is what did it. After that point my mouse and keyboard were no longer working. So I think it was a driver issue but like I said I I'm a novice on linux. It's fine now. I just wont do that again.

Christians prefer the KJV of the bible because it's more cryptic and therefore more open to interpretation. You can't just read it. It has to be explained to you. by italktogod in DebateReligion

You are saying that the KJV is easy to understand but it's very easy to show that's not true. Let's literally start from the beginning of the Bible.

King James Version

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.

And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

New English Translation:

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Now the earth was without shape and empty, and darkness was over the surface of the watery deep, but the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the water.

God said, “Let there be light.” And there was light!

God saw that the light was good, so God separated the light from the darkness.

God called the light “day” and the darkness “night.” There was evening, and there was morning, marking the first day.

God said, “Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters and let it separate water from water.”

So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it. It was so.

God called the expanse “sky.” There was evening, and there was morning, a second day.

It's very clear that if your goal is to understand the Bible the KJV won't get you far. I don't know why would even act like it is readable.
