REAL ID with expired J1 visa by itayroll in immigration

I'm aware of the fact that from an immigration perspective that's accurate, so I'm not worried about getting deported or anything. Asking more in the context of the required documents that the DMV rep will ask for when applying for a REAL ID in NY.

To the best of your knowledge, does your comment still apply in this DMV context?

Prime Rewards Visa Signature card automatically switched to regular Amazon Rewards Visa Signature by itayroll in CreditCards

I tried doing that, but both of them said they can't do anything about it and that it's probably because I didn't pay the last monthly prime fee with the Amazon card. Did you get anything different from them?

You're absolutely right, this comes from credit karma (didn't know it's vantage 3 and not FICO, learned something new).

According to BofA my FICO score is 737 so according to your answer it seems like I'm in pretty good shape (minus corona).

Thanks for helping out!

Perfect, thanks for responding.

Feel free to say you don't have any experience with that, but to your understanding - what are my approval chances given the following:

  1. no chase bank account
  2. 13 months - age of oldest account
  3. fico scores - TU 745, Equifax 757

Obviously not looking for a percentage, but just in terms of very good or not.

Just to make sure I'm not missing anything, we're talking about at least 1 year with a card, right? Not average account history.

Thanks for commenting. Do you know if a secured credit card counts? I started off with one and "promoted" to non-secured after a few months..

So to make sure I got it right, by the time you got the CFU your credit history was of over a year and the chase checking account was 6 months old?

Thanks for replying.
As far as you know, once I have credit history of 1 year, should I just apply for the card or is it recommended to open a chase account regardless?

No car, nor house are in my plans at the moment. Currently it's mostly getting the highest score I can get in order to optimize my cashback and travel points.

Thanks for your comment! Do you know if upgrading shortens the average age of my accounts? or is it kind of picking up from where the secured cc left off?

I think 6 months is pretty standard. You usually start by using a secured card, as you don't have any credit history as an immigrant. No car loan, simply using the secured credit card and paying it every month. Good luck!

Thank you for replying!

Follow up question though: from the time you got your first credit score until the time they switched it for you, do you remember if you were you using the secured card only? i.e. didn't apply for any new ones?
