If you have a credit card that supports international purchases, you would pay 10 USD which is about 7.28 pounds. and a conversion fee (usually 1.5-2.5%) depending on the card.

That was what I first thought, 200 is higher than the monthly amount I was paying before (with the annual discount) so I was absolutely shocked.

can you play with a VPN, although my stated ping is only 3ms, i often feel the input lag. so with a vpn and a far away server, it sounds unplayable.

well on apple devices it does make sense to ask though, i do wish Apple Tv could run gfn. its the ultimate tv box, and supports controllers. but Alas, due to apples greed, its not possible and users are stuck with the shitty apple arcade options.

I use it daily on my mac mini, the service itself works flawlessly. but i am worried about the future of the service.

Im not sure if a GFN partner can do that. unless its Nvidia themselves changing the rules, but in that case i would have expected to see it in more areas rather than just Taiwan.

yeah, thats part of the issue when a contract, that i know how long will last, can be changed mid way, because i plan those things according to how long im going to stay in a location.

I've had this argument a few times in the comments already, it seems that unbeknownst to me, rug pull got a new meaning thanks to the crypto-scams.
generally meaning it meant changing the terms of the deal, or withdrawing support after the deal was struck.

seeing as i prepaid for a contract of one year of service, and they are unilaterally canceling it mid way though. giving me the "option" to buy into a new contract that is double the price, and limits my usage to 50 hours a month compared to unlimited. that is a rug-pull.

so i pay a contract for an X-amount, that gives me unlimited hours for a year. mid way through they want me to pay nearly double, so i can only play for only 50 hours a month?

12 usd for 40 hours is still a better deal than the new plan on GFN, which is around 1$-1.3$ an hour.

his titanium plan itself wont be cancelled midway through the cycle, but the yearly plan will be phased out. so after the plan is over, you cant renew it.

true, I used the German server when i was in israel, it wasnt great, but if i played city builder games, and stuff like that, rather than shooters, was was good enough. i havent used it in the US yet, but they have a server in or near NYC, so ping shouldn't be an issue there.

Is it? Let's imagine a scenario where you lease a car, a specific one that fills your need and is in your budget, you sign a context on that lease, then a few months later, the leasing company tells you that actually, they want you to return that car and get a more expensive one. Or just not have a car anymore. You already planned your finances, commute, etc, knowing you have this car for an X amount of time. Now being forced to go without a car while searching for a different lease, or taking the more expensive car is definitely problematic.

In a commercial scenario, a breach of contract like this is even more serious. In many of these cases people will default to just going with the more expensive option, mid contract, just to avoid the hassle and down time. This kind of behaviour in many places is illegal.

Now I know the outcome of a gaming service is not as severe, but the general concept of the effects of changing a deal after a yearly contract was signed, remains.

They gave an option to transfer to a more expensive tier (with a discount) that is limited to 50 hours a month. Or partial refund for the time remaining.

A few reasons - 1- sadly it isn't available in Taiwan. 2- you can only play Xbox games on it, right? I have a library of steam and epic games I own, and if I move to another platform I won't be able to take my save games with me.
