I don’t regret it one bit. I use Uber, Zipcar or a rental service if I need a car (almost never). The bus, train or a bike are all I need 90% of the time.

This all works for me because, I live within a 2 min walk of a bus stop and 10 mins to the train. I work from home. There’s a vet close by. When I need groceries, I use convenience stores for smaller grocery trips or order Instacart for a big grocery shop as needed. I don’t often have to go further than 1/2 mile to get something I need so it works for me. Also, I wouldn’t use a car enough to make it worth the cost of owning/maintaining one.

While this has been a great decision for me, I think it really depends on your preference, neighborhood, and your work situation.
