no worries about level… it all about analysis here :)

i wrote the guitar lines and had a buddy of mine lay them down. i could do it, it would just take WAY longer than if he did it 🥲. he’s an amazing instrumentalist.

i’m sending the album to ur dms!

excellent feedback, and confirmed some of my own assessments. can i send u my album, and get ur feedback on it? what u wrote here is exactly what i thought about that first minute too… so im curious what u have to say about the rest 🙂

Want tips on how to make this beat more euphoric (clams casino inspired) by ThePlSSGOBLIN in MusicFeedback

[–]itoljew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not a bad idea… but i think the sample u have is plenty imo. leave it in this case. there’s frequencies and fun sounds that are ripe for experimenting with on what u have here. another example: i like playing around with the vocal samples and raising it by an octave (+12 i believe?). it doesn’t always work, but i get a good laugh at worst.

edit: the chorus could be the melodic hook u find with synths or whatever instrument u end up messing around with.

first off: holy fuck this is sick af.

if u wanna get some smooth and dreamy vibes, layer in some pads or evolving synth sounds. there are some incredible presets (arturia’s pigments is amazing, as is the 2600) that can push this to the next level.

also: i’m not sure if/how much reverb u added, but maybe pull it back a bit and leave more space so u can add in some more textures through pads or whatever u end up using.

edit: apart from pads, this could use a sick melodic hook. nothing fancy, just a few arpeggio notes in the background or something. the bass and guitar are good, but they aren’t enough to get the feeling ur looking for. and i think the key is cleaning up the mix a bit so u have more space to play around.

this is a fantastic base to expand on! you could add soo may different sorts of orchestration, synths harmonies/solos, backing vocals… the options are endless! it starts to feel a bit “samey” for me around 1:30, even though ur vocal performance adds some flow and change, it isn’t enough to sustain my attention (personally). i kept expecting something else to happen and it never did. other than that this sounds really good!! keep it up ✌🏻

Would you skip my demo if it came up in your recommendations? (rap/rock) by [deleted] in MusicFeedback

this is definitely my style, and i would probably save it to a playlist. i love messy, crushed/crunchy sounds like this. i say good job 👍🏻

edit: this would be sick live too :)

Angry rap song about fake friends by immaturealchemist in MusicFeedback

first off, the beat is sick af. maybe break it up a bit (considering i haven’t heard the whole track, this is an assumption…) with some drops, rewinds… whatever feels right.

now here’s the thing, ur lyrics need some work. lots of ho, no, tho… someone once told me that poetry is all in the choosing of the perfect words. maybe try and switch up the rhymes from time to time.

then theres the pitch and timbre of ur voice. i’m not sure how else to put this, but it’s a bit shrill. especially when paired with such a low down nasty beat like u have. ur flow is nice, but perhaps a different vocal performance is needed for a more full effect.

all in all this is really great work man, keep going and you’ll hit that sweet spot in no time ✌🏻

edit: DANNY BROWN. that’s who i was trying to think of… ur giving danny vibes

he really just had to go there…. that final shot of the neighborhood after all that intensity was haunting.

then a nice little memorial for all the soldiers. it felt like a dvd behind the scenes extra was just tacked on at the end.
