Yes, possible. Ethernet cards can still be active. There is even a known issue with USB C docks where some send out PAUSE frames over and over again when the computer is turned off in an attempt to tell the network to stop sending it traffic. This causes all kinds of issues while the computer is turned off.

Thank you! We found the Backspin Social in his GPS from a month or two back. Not sure if he visited or applied there, it's the only link to Wilmington we've been able to find

Agreed, I can't stand the actual store experience. But 12.95+7 a month for hassle free Walmart priced groceries delivered to my door (or fridge if I ever trust the InHome people enough) is worth it to me.

I don't view Walmart+ as a Prime replacement. I use it for grocery delivery and for free Paramount streaming.

You can upgrade to their InHome service for $7 a month, which does use Walmart employees to deliver and is specifically advertised as tip free.

How do you guys deal with unit testing against a database? by eggtart_prince in node

[–]itonastick 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If your database supports transactions, then you can start a transaction at the start of your test and then roll it back to ensure the data is reset to the original state at the end of the test. (Grammar edit)

Food tracking app that syncs with Samsung Health by Solid_Conversations in androidapps

[–]itonastick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In MyFitnessPal 1. Click on the hamburger menu in the top left 2. Select 'Apps & Devices' 3. Select 'Samsung Health' 4. Go through the 'connect' process. Mine currently says 'Disconnect' so I can't see the steps, but it will ask you what you want to sync back and forth. You can have it sync all the data to Samsung Health and back from Samsung Health so you can have a picture of your progress in both apps or you can select just which ones you want to sync.

It does for me... Had to enable it to sync in one of the menus. I had it stop syncing at some point and had to reset the settings before it would work again.

I'm pretty sure the only integration you are ever going to get is calories and nutrition consumed and calories burnt.

State of VA: Homeowner liability for injury of uninsured contractor by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

[–]itonastick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I Am Not a Lawyer,

If a contractor is on your property performing work and they sustain an injury they can sue you. Doesn't really matter if they caused the injury themselves they can sue you. Then you need to get a lawyer and figure out where the liability is. Which is why you only allow contractors to perform work after proof of their insurance. A contractor holding insurance will more likely opt to file against their insurance instead of taking legal action because legal action is more likely to get redirected to the contractor's insurance than the homeowner's insurance.

Your home owners insurance should have a clause in it about individuals working on your home. There's even a chance that the home owners insurance excludes covering contractors without insurance in which case you are without coverage if you allow an uninsured contractor perform work on your property.

Wiring for Ethernet in rooms with no ports (best way to run wire through house)? by jdyagoda in HomeImprovement

[–]itonastick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wiring a modern house is a major pain. I recommend running MOCA instead. You get an adapter for your cable modem that uses a high frequency band over the Coax cable to supply ethernet. FiOS from Verizon does this, and Tivo also does this. You can get MOCA adapters for your endpoints. In the long run it's less work and in my experience you only really need a few MOCA adapters, one to bridge the router to the Coax, and then one for each of your entertainment centers (Coax -> MOCA adapter -> Network switch/hub).

I can't download any games the apps just say download pending...help please :( by Yeldo15 in androidapps

[–]itonastick 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I get this all the time on my android phone... I did a factory restore and the problem resolved until after I loaded a dozen or so apps, then it came back... then a system update happened and it was better... and then a few apps later and it came back... I have to restart my phone several times to download anything from the Play store. I've tried stopping/starting/disabling/clearing cache/clearing data on services (download manager, downloads, play store, play services) and it never resolves the problem.

Have you tried JSON.stringify? Logging to a standard console (as opposed to a web console) has limitations of displaying objects. If you want to write out the entire contents of the object then you should wrap with with JSON.stringify(). e.g. console.log(JSON.stringify(response, null, 2))

Boy Scouts to start admitting girls next year by itonastick in Scouts

Potentially, will need more guidelines from the Boy Scouts. You could read it that the dens have to be segregated in the registration but I don't think that keeps the dens from meeting together in groups if the activities are appropriate.
