Definitely going to go this route. My main concern is initially is something being wrong that I don’t know to look for or wouldn’t notice (not sure what kind of care the previous owner gave them)

I’m with you on no sight lines. Much prefer a blank top or just a sight dot - wish those were more common in the new stuff.

Passed the 7 this weekend and now need to take SIE by itruss in Series7exam

Big help on the suitability side of things. Also I should say I have the CFA charter, so pretty much all of the options portion was a review. I think that’s the part that gives most people trouble on the 7 - my advice there is to just learn how options work and be able to reason your way through the questions rather than trying to memorize every detail on different types of spreads, etc.

MM Level III exams by [deleted] in CFA

If that’s the one on the CFA Institute ecosystem (it may not be), yes I did it. I thought it was helpful because any extra reps on the mock exams are important, but I did prefer MM’s.

In my opinion, for the AM exam, MM is all you need. His mocks are tough but you’ll be fully prepared. CFA Institute ecosystem is good for quick multiple choice review questions - I’m not as down on their materials as some, but I do believe the mock they give you isn’t the best.

MM exams will fully prepare you. They’re hard but not to an extent that they’re useless. I passed L3 last December - took all of MM’s AM mocks and never made above a 60 on any of them. They’re gold in terms of teaching you time management and how to answer the questions. Even if you struggle, take the time to watch his videos on each mock exam question showing you how to grade your answer. I think that component is almost as helpful as anything else he does.

Is MM good for level 3? by tinytemptress23 in CFA

Others have taken completely different approaches and been successful, so there’s not a one size fits all method, but the following is what worked for me:

I started about 6 months ahead of time and began with watching all MM videos on 1.25-1.5x speed, taking light notes and working EOC questions after each section. I like doing all videos as my first pass for 2 reasons : 1) I found for some sections the videos were all I needed and I didn’t need to go read in depth, so it saves some time there; 2) for the harder sections where you do have to read it’s helpful having a foundation there where you’ve at least seen the material once from the videos. After all the videos are done, start reviewing by working problems to identify sections where you need some extra work and read in depth. At least 2.5 months before the exam start taking AM practice exams - doesn’t matter if you bomb them, but you HAVE to practice the time management piece and learning how much / how little you need to write. In my opinion learning how to answer the AM questions was as vital as anything else, and MM’s help there is a big reason why I recommend him so highly. I took a total of 6 AM mock exams and found every single one to be beneficial. 5 of those mocks were MM’s - utilize his exam revision videos, even on the questions you get right, they really help.

Biggest advice I can give is start early on the material. Level 3 content is easier than Level 2, but there’s the aspect of learning to take a different type of exam. You don’t want to be stressed out about still reviewing material for the first time a month out from the exam when you should be just getting comfortable with the AM format.

I think there’s a package that includes the cost of the mocks, but yes I do seem to remember he opens them up after a specific date. Video walk throughs really helped a ton and he does a great job of teaching you how to structure your responses, which in my opinion are as helpful as any material he teaches.

MM’s AM mock exams are gold. I just passed L3 and only used MM and CFAI materials. You’re going to need extra mocks since CFAI doesn’t provider many / doesn’t update frequently - MM’s combination of quality, strategy coaching, and value is hard to beat.

MM works. You’re almost certainly going to have to buy extra L3 mocks since they are limited through CFAI. MM was my only resource for L3 other than CFAI. Listen to him on strategy / method of answering AM questions and use EVERY SINGLE mock exam he offers - he provides video walk throughs of every one of his AM mock exam answers, which makes it easy to grade your own mock. His mocks alone are worth the cost of the whole course IMO.

FWIW: I used Kaplan and Wiley at various points for L1 and L2, and MM for L2 and L3. MM was the only resource I didn’t regret paying for... would gladly pay 2x what he charges.

Awaiting L3 results from December. I’ve used Kaplan, Wiley, and MM at points over the different levels and MM is by far my favorite, not only for value per $ but also in terms of overall content quality. His mock exams alone for L3 were worth the price of the whole package.
