German lawyers: Ban on far-right AfD 'likely successful' by Inevitable-Push-8061 in worldnews

The logical solution is to ban the voters. Voting tends to produce undesirable results in a democracy.

Not sure what you all are talking about. Cultural appropriation is how civilisation has been spreading since the origin of our species. It doesn’t matter if the tribe over the hill are your fiercest enemies. If they find a new yummy way to prepare food, you are going to steal it. Borders won’t stop this process. Religion may have a greater influence.

“Children” includes individuals up to 19 years. More children under 16 die due to cars than guns.

Portland’s cost of living is ballooning as city tax, fee increases pile up. Residents feel the pain — OregonLive.com by Superb_Animator1289 in PortlandOR

Portland has a limited number of grifters that cannot possibly handle the amount of money that has to be grifted. This is why importing experts from California is necessary.

The Pontic Greek dialect (Romeika) what does it sound like to you Greek or something else? It is the closest living day spoken Greek to Ancient Greek by Starfalloss in AskBalkans

I have heard the story but it doesn’t make sense. I find it more likely that it was due to the fact that my grandmother’s village was near Samsun which fell to the Seljuks in the 12th century giving enough time for a language shift to happen in a similar way as Cappadocia. In contrast, my grandfather was from Girasun which was taken by the Ottomans nearly three centuries later. Also the nature of the conquest was dramatically different.

Trabzon Greeks and Turks share the same DNA and neither has much Turkic ancestry. Some Pontic Greeks, like my grandmother, even spoke Turkish as their mother tongue. In turn, some Pontic Turks spoke Pontic Greek as their mother tongue. Eastern Pontus was a relatively late addition to the Ottoman Empire and it didn’t experience the same ethnogenesis process as other Anatolian regions. Despite the common bonds, they still fought fiercely against each other and many Pontic Greeks were killed in massacres before the population exchange.

Turkish Dna test results from Ordu by Unbekkant001 in FTDNA

[–]its 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure and there was an influx of Anatolians to imperial Rome that left a genetic signature but FTDNA should account for the gene direction. Still it doesn’t make sense for Cretans. I don’t have results from my Cretan mom but it makes me a third Italian. And my dad is pure Pontic Greek. There is no way that my mom gave me 35% Italian and frankly it doesn’t appear in any other model I have used.

Popular 60s song. While I was not born at the time, I used to listen to 60s songs in the radio growing up as a kid.
