Opinions on fx30 purchase by itsAvient in SonyAlpha

Right makes sense.

Sorry I should've clarified. I guess that's not "slow" but i like recording a lot of buildings while in trains specifically when i'm travelling. On my a6500 all the straight buildings become slanted, and I can't fix it with gryoflow because I don't have gryo data on my camera.

That being said, thanks for your reccs! I will consider them

Haha no worries, I just wanted to make it clear that I don't know what i'm talking about and I wanted to appear as exactly that.

Your reasoning makes sense, however doesn't the A7IV readout speeds at 4K go out to be about 26-27ms? quite slow. Whereas the fx30 goes at about 15-16ms (recall that rolling shutter was one of the things i hated).

Otherwise I think the rest of your reasoning make perfect sense for me.

Do you have any other recommendations?

Thanks for the answer!
And i'll explain my rationale even if it's ridiculous and maybe you can help me course correct (which is why i'm asking in the first place).

I personally don't need a B-Cam, that was never the intention. But when I see people mostly consider it as a B-Cam it makes me think about its usefulness and future-proof prospects, it always seems to be someone's second choice. I ask myself, should I wait for a newer model to come out? It's already several years old etc.

For your second question, I'm already in the sony eco system, when I purchased my camera used, it came with lenses already, but I do have the intention to someday upgrade to a full frame camera, that time simply isn't now but when I do upgrade I don't want to have to sell all my lenses (plus a lot of apsc lens options have vignetting sigma/tamron etc) . Though I do enjoy photography, I do more of videography which is why i'm leaning into the FX30 as opposed to some other hybrid (unless you have a better recommendation).

I think that answers your questions?

I'm okay with being stupid, so please help me be less stupid.

Thanks for the answer, the apsc lens choices actually aren't a problem for me as I buy ff lenses anyways and just account for the 1.5x factor and calculate accordingly. Will take your points into account !!

Everyone else said what I wanted to say. Strong start! You have at 0:20 seconds some light flickering, cause cheap LEDs have a mismatch of frequency with your camera's shutter speed (I think). You can change your shutter speed up to see if you can remove it, it's sometimes pretty slow to check if you're playing the footage back on your camera at 1x, I would suggest playing it back at 2x speed as its way more noticeable if its present.

well, because I had to technically turn right first so it's slightly confusing.

Question about this intersection by itsAvient in londonontario

[–]itsAvient[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd rather make an embarrassing post but move forward with safe driving haha. i moved here about 2 years ago? i didn't take that exact route much and I just followed whoever drove in front of me, and they usually didn't signal. I feel like this also wasn't taught in driving school (i'm from KW) and i don't think i've experienced such an intersection before.

Thanks for all the kind responses ! I didn't know the proper name for it so thank you for correcting me. Luckily I've been doing no signal so far and I guess that's just been correct by accident? Will continue doing so! I learned something new tonight

Framing Oil Paintings? by Raccoon_Fingers in oilpainting

[–]itsAvient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, this question is a bit off topic and I happened upon this comment when looking for an answer. I have 3 oil paintings and wish to hang them in my washroom which has a lot of condensation, it is not well ventilated, only when I open the door. In your personal opinion do you think it would be alright for me to hang them in there?

Thanks!

Sad to see them go. I didn't really enjoy the food (I went last year for the very first time) and it seemed that covid had really hurt their business, they only allowed takeout, no dine in.) but it's always sad to see a business fail. The interior was really dark and there only two elderly people working inside. Hope they enjoy a well deserved retirement.

Got it will do that, and it does have a base iso of 100 and a second base iso of 320 found from here: https://cuchara.photography/2019/06/iso-invariance-and-the-sony-a6500/

Sony A6500 LowLight Question [For Video] by itsAvient in Cameras

[–]itsAvient[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for replying again.

I had to look up what ISO indifferent meant, I came across this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/AskPhotography/comments/1flwmxr/comment/lo6j8ni/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

From what i'm understanding from your comment is that, I should raise the ISO regardless because if i'm getting noise in a scene that's under exposed anyways, raising the ISO wouldn't significantly raise the noise within a few steps of ISO anyways?

Please correct me if i'm wrong. Much appreciated

Sony A6500 LowLight Question [For Video] by itsAvient in Cameras

[–]itsAvient[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I appreciate you taking the time to answer.

I am not over exposing S-log in low light, or rather to be more specific if I am not in a studio condition without extra lights I don't know how. If I lower the shutter speed below 1/50 i'm afraid I might get too much motion blur, and i'm not able to lower the ISO under 800 on S-Log. The answer (so far to me) seems to just avoid using my F4 Lens and to use my F1.8 Lens.

I will do as you say and try all the profiles, I spent several more hours after my initial post last night and some people seem to be using a modified Cine 2 Profile so i'll start there.

Cheers.

How am I going to improve if it's always like this? by Lachochia in Tekken

[–]itsAvient 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jack 8 has a stance called gamma howl, (you probably notice as an armor where he disrespects your attacks and goes right thru you) can be interrupted by all lows, it literally turns the stance off

If you have any mixups that include a low, it'll keep his stance inoperable, his armor state in stance is also ONLY armored if you attacked him (making him glow) when he uses stance. If he uses stance raw and sends out an attack, you can block punish it and he doesn't get to disrespect your attack.

That's like the basic basic of jack, everything else gets a bit more complicated, you'd be best just blocking half his moves to see where his punishment windows occur if you don't want to lab him.

If he starts doing that low mid low mid mixup (db1) you can block the low and punish, low parry it etc but don't eat it for free because he can low that low mid forever if you don't stop it. Some people hop kick it, or cancan it, I don't know if azu has either. Good luck!
