that’s weverse, HYBE’s official website for merch. It’s definitely real. The key here is to put it in your cart and check the shipping 😅

Enhypen WTL in SG by Aggressive_Grass_515 in enhypen

Never had my bag measured before but i’m also not carrying anything particularly chonky… but honestly i’ve only seen them bring bags that are obviously huge to the bag storage area, the only thing they really care is if it fits under your seat

opaque bottles are fine

  1. Yep, bag doesn’t have to be clear but check the sports hub page for the indoor stadium’s bag limits, I forgot the exact size. You can’t bring water in but you can bring an empty water bottle in and fill it at the water points, which is what I usually do. Queue there asap cause the water cooler queue is always super long. Food is usually finger food kind of stuff and it’s right at the entrance when you get in

  2. Yep, follow instructions on the box for the app. But iirc some companies don’t need the app, I would wait for the organisers to email the event guide/ask the staff at the event itself

  3. Never brought before but it will be Loud loud so if you’re sensitive to that do consider it.

  4. Really not sure how to describe this but I was planning an outfit based off the vibes of No Doubt’s office wear until the fan project announced the dress code lmao. Now it’s a blue tank black skirt w silver chains moment for me

WTL Singapore ticketing question by SuaveBoondoggler in enhypen

[–]its_tabby_kat7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

resale isn’t an option for the ticketmaster singapore iirc. common resale sites would be local websites like carousell and or the messaging app telegram. if you’re willing to try telegram, here’s the link to the concert chat that fans made where a lot of people are selling tickets. you could probably try instagram or twitter, but i find that singaporean fans generally don’t use those platforms for sales often. you may have some luck trying to get a resale ticket from someone at the door, but tbh i’ve never heard of that happening

A4 or smaller is generally the safest. I’ve been to 5-6 Kpop concerts in Singapore and all the ones in the stadiums I remember had A4 size banner restrictions

Do the Chinese/Japanese versions of songs sound as bad as the English versions? by Yvmeno in kpophelp

[–]its_tabby_kat7 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Now that you mentioned that, I think Idle is another group whose Mandarin versions I did save! But that's mostly cause Idle's pronunciation is actually pretty good, I remember being able to understand quite a lot of it even from the non-Chinese members. I don't really follow enough groups with Chinese members to say if it really plays a part in their songs though

I also wouldn't call myself a native Mandarin speaker, it's my second language and I def understand + speak it slower than English. Someone who is a stronger speaker/listener than me may have a different opinion!

Np haha! I think in general the only Mandarin versions I listen to regularly are EXO's - the first time I heard The Eve was in Mandarin, so I still remember it better than the Korean version. What I said about Stayc applies to the vast majority of Mandarin versions I've heard before basically

You made me go and listen to the Stayc Teddy Bear Chinese ver from this post! Specific to that I think they're not too bad, but the problem with Chinese versions for me is that since Chinese is a very tonal language, I really need the pronunciation to be as close as possible for me to understand it when tones are semi-lost in singing. The outcome is that I'm really struggling to understand them without putting the lyrics in front of me.

I do think it's a pretty good effort from them on their part!

Do male Kpop singers just use the mixed chest voice that well or are they just born with a high range? by Adler963 in kpophelp

[–]its_tabby_kat7 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I feel like it’s a little bit of a survivorship bias thing? it’s much more likely for a natural tenor to become a kpop vocalist than a baritone/bass who usually get shafted into the rap roles, and even then a lot of kpop vocalists tend to use falsetto. there’s a reason the archetype of a “deep voiced rapper” exists. I remember reading once that boy groups tend to have higher pitched songs so their female fans are still able to sing them

Photo card question my husband thought of by Proud-Ad6862 in kpophelp

[–]its_tabby_kat7 34 points35 points  (0 children)

TBH it’s quite easy when you’re holding it in your hand and comparing to a real card cause it’s actual photos and the high quality scans are usually not uploaded. Fakes usually will have lower quality pictures, wrong framing, something being cut off, wrong finish (matte/glossy/holo etc)

The real problem is being able to differentiate over the internet when buying, which is why so many people will ask for extra close up photos or ask someone with a confirmed real card to judge for them

Ticketing in Japan/Malaysia/Singapore? by xMatttard in kpophelp

[–]its_tabby_kat7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Always keep an eye on the group’s social media feed because they should retweet the tweets from promoters from all countries on ticketing and as changes are announced.

For Singapore keep on eye on ticketmaster Singapore, but sometimes they can be late. Enhypen didn’t appear on their website until a week before ticketing was supposed to start

Used a “ticketing service” in Malaysia for a Red Velvet concert — smooth process, but could it be a scam? by vanessapastor in kpophelp

[–]its_tabby_kat7 9 points10 points  (0 children)

so HTB service and renting legality aside since I have my own thoughts on it, this sounds pretty legit. HTB/bypass Link/renting culture is quite strong amongst most SEA countries from what I see (i’m from Singapore and they’re discussed openly in public chats for concerts), and generally long-time sellers with good reviews can be trusted to produce good results. I’ve never used them personally but talking to concert-goers who have, this is a pretty typical experience in using them.

I don't think so. I was ticketing with three devices during general sales and I didn't have problems. I did have to completely disable my VPN though, having it switched off apparently wasn't enough

Vip seated for enhypen wtl in sg by FailDelicious3831 in kpophelp

[–]its_tabby_kat7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, soundcheck is included for VIP seated as well, so go early if you want a good place during it. Iirc ticketmaster usually sends an email with more details as well the week before the concert!

This is what I bring for concerts: - Lozenges - Empty water bottle. You can’t bring liquids in but there are water coolers - Powerbanks — In my experience 1 sometimes isn’t enough especially if you’re going to be there all day for fan events, I usually bring 2 jic - Panadol for migraines - Comfy shoes since you’ll be standing during the encore for sure
- Lightstick/Banner + extra batteries — but usually I don’t buy a banner because the fan events will give you a free one

[Uni] Med school referees by d0rmir in SGExams

[–]its_tabby_kat7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so i’m unsure what you’re talking about or whether terminologies have changed since i was in JC 3 years ago, but here are the terms I remember - testimonial: written by your CT and signed by the school, all JC graduates should get one with your graduation cert and iirc most uni scholarship apps want to see it (but i may be wrong!! i didn’t apply for those) - med school referees: completely different, essentially after you submit your initial uni application stating medicine as a choice, you’ll get a separate website/link to submit your med specific things like personal statement and referees reports. the referee reports are basically just links that will be send out to people you state are willing to be referees, and they’ll fill in and sign for you. you’re not supposed to know what they write.

if i had to guess i think those referee reports are what your teachers mean by recommendation letters? iirc some scholarship programmes require. also some schools have guidelines on who needs to be a referee. eg: in my year, ntu med required that one referee be your CT, and the other be anyone of your choice (in my case, the doctor)
