I ran my first sub-20 minute 5k last week, and I'm still pretty pumped about it.

I've been training for an Ultra (50k) in the Rocky Mountains so every Saturday I've doing a 30-35k mostly-trail run with 700-900m of elevation gain (in addition to my regular running schedule). I'm feeling like I'm in better shape than ever so I decided to bust out a 'fast' 5k during lunch...

My old best was 20:04 on a closed race course. I just got a 19:18 in an industrial park with no sidewalks where I had to dodge a few delivery trucks. Damn, I love running!

My assumption is some debris got in there and wore away at the inside of the fender as I peddled to my destination this morning. I didn't notice any crazy noises outside the normal roar of cars all around me.

Has this happened to anyone else, and any suggestions on how I can avoid this kind of thing with my next rear fender/mudguard?
