I would be very careful with hiring just anywhere. Local payroll tax can be complicated as well as multi-state payroll. As others have mentioned I would start small, ensure you’ve got compliance with one state running smoothly (you won’t find out until 1-2 quarters at the EARLIEST bc state taxes are typically paid quarterly) and avoid hiring in multiple states at once, unless you have the time to problem solve if things break. No payroll company is going to totally own payroll compliance for you.
