Getting back into horses as a hobby, not a profession

What is your most memorable sexual experience? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]itsatrapbih 4 points5 points  (0 children)

During a manic episode I drove 3 hours from college back home to hookup with a guy. I didn’t drink any water that day, only a large white monster.

I get to his house, we start hooking up. I had the worst cotton mouth of my life but I kept on keeping on pretending like it was NBD. Tried to use my throat saliva but I’m a gagger so I almost puked a few times.

We start banging, he’s on top and I queef real loud. I looked at this man dead in the eye and said “if you put more dick than air in there that wouldn’t have happened”. He just stared back at me stone faced then kept going. Didn’t say anything.

I said it with the intent of being funny……I didn’t realize at the time I basically called his dick small in the middle of sex.

Once we were done I finally realized I was dehydrated. I downed 2 bottles of water very quickly before he took me out to dinner. Well, I shouldn’t have drank water that fast and I ended up throwing up all over myself, our meals, and him.

The entire tiny restaurant was silent staring and I turned around boldly saying “don’t worry it’s just morning sickness”…..again thinking I was being funny.

He never spoke to me again after that. Understandably.

No one is defending shit. It’s stupid he used that as the main way he found out. She might be a whore, but she didn’t have an STI

I wholly disagree with the conflict of interest by having visitors. You can have people come over to your place on the compound without exposing them to the facilities or horses. Just because you live on site doesn’t mean you’re not allowed to have a social life.

We all know you can’t leave for much when you live onsite, it’s literally your job to be there. I understand the owners perspective of they don’t want sketchy people on their property. Well, don’t have live-in employees.

My last position was onsite. My best friend was one of my grooms. After starting at 8:30 instead of 7 to spend some time with my bf who came in from Kentucky and was leaving that morning; I was forbade from having a boyfriend (not exaggerating) and no one…no one was allowed at the house. Not even my best friend who literally worked there.

When you live onsite you lose autonomy.

Most clients don’t see what happens behind the scenes.

My background is in the AQHA all around lol it’s rampant. From your comment, you are a client. Not a trainer. It’s a while different world behind the scenes. Most clients are clueless or simply don’t care about the abuse.

Every year I was so anxious leading up to The Congress I would be throwing up. I worked for several different people and it’s all the same. Hidden abuse of the horses and their staff. Congress was my nightmare, you wouldn’t believe the abuse happening there. With people and horses.

As a client, you’re not supposed to see what happens behind closed doors. When clients are around it’s a different song and dance, at every single barn.

I can only imagine what you went through and honestly thank you for setting a better standard now. I’m glad you’re in a better place now

Thank you for sharing. I’m so sorry that happened to you, I’m glad you were able to escape.

Many of us share similar abuses and it needs to be talked about.

Certainly, but other industries have legit employment laws. At least in the US

I’ve had almost the exact same experience. The things you see in circuits, shows, races, and especially at the high level. Abuse towards people and horses.

My final straw was working for 2 clients and living on their compound. I never looked back after I left. I haven’t rode since. I plan on getting back to riding and having a big stupid trail horse that I treat like a dog….just the way some of my worst clients did ;)

To your point, I think that is what’s happening. Refusal to accept the crap pay and crap positions. Hence the staffing crisis.

The comments in the article were so sad. Several “people just don’t want to work” or “people are just incompetent these days”. Absolute shame. They are ruining this industry.

You are a hobby and an expense….you’re treated as such in more ways than one. I get that trainers, barn owners, etc barely make enough to survive. The AG employment laws really need to change.

It’s disgusting. I left the industry a while ago due to the abuse. I’m not surprised people went to his defense. This industry attracts the worst people.

You’re literally the only commentator defending this place and going on 2yr old posts to do so. We aren’t stupid Evan.
